do whatever u feel and want to do. ur parents will eventually come in terms with it [hopefully]. ur life is for you to live the way u want to live. certain situations can accept a compromise and others can't. if they are not willing to understand you and ur feelings then its pretty much hopeless to argue/reason with them bcoz then they'd only add to their emotional blackmailing baggage for u to feel guilty in the end.to respect and listen to parents is one thing but to follow them/their demands blindly is stupidity.in the end its your life and decision. good luck.

no one can force you into doing something you don't wish to do.

blackmailing won't work once you let them know their blackmailing won't work.

ultimately, parents want a child to be happy.

if you stick up for urself, one day they might see things from your POV and smile seeing you happy.

I dunno if i said it before but NO ONE CAN GIVE THEMSELVES A HEART ATTACK !!! THat is utter crap!! I dont think my dad willingly wanted to have multiple bypasss surgery, and months of feeling liek sh*t.. argh it pisses me off when uneducated jahil kanjars say that kinda stuff “haye ill have a hart attack if u dont do this for me”

^ dun worry, no one gets a heart attack if their kid's not doing something they're tryna force them to do. if they do really get one (god forbid) that's a bit demented.

I know noone can will themselves to get a heart attack.. but gosh, it is such a serious thing, its very painful, it kills not only that person but his loved ones as well.. I just remember whenever my dad got sick, the moment he collapsed, and then seeing him in the hospital hooked up to the machines and everything… makes me angry that someone will try and threaten their child with that, it IS sick and demented

Sara you are right that a person can't really make himself/herself get a heart attack on purpose but if they already have some kind a serious illnesss, which can lead to heart attack or even stroke...trust me they know how to go about! If not heart attack then Depresssion is in their fate rolleyes

Heart attack as a “blackmail” is very rare and an extreme example. These days people talk about love marriage like they can find a decent person on their own. Drama drama all the time.

Black Beauty, go to islamic scholars and get the relevant hadiths and ayats from the Quran and sunnah, and you show it to your parents,
This is what your RELIGION your ALLAH wants to happen, (meaning keh you have a choice who u marry no forced marraiges please)
then get them to talk to a proper trusted scholar of islam, let him explain that you have a choice, and you cannot be forced other wise your Nikkah would be void.
