Okay, from some people’s replies in this thread http://www.paklinks.com/gs/all-views/332556-share-one-important-lesson-u-have-learnt-life-experiences.html , i feel some people think parents always do not make the best choices for you.How many of you agree with this, and really think so?
I believe it’s true to some extent because, some parents usually just try to impose their choices on their children without considering their children’s happiness and choices.
Please share your thoughts!
Re: Parents always do not make the best choices?
IMO we can't say they don't make the "best choices" because who's parents want something bad for their children? All parents want the best possible for their children and that's how they make their decisions. We can't blame them.
To those kids who whine and itch.. well they are just immature & spoiled little brats who take everything for granted.
Re: Parents always do not make the best choices?
I think people who believe that all parents only do the best for their children are silly.
Not everyone has wonderful caring parents, not everyone has parents who shower them with unconditional love.
At the end of the day parents are humans first and humans make mistakes.
There is no guide book on how to be a parent. The trick is to learn from mistakes. Now if a parent doesnt learn...well for everything else there is God.

**"Nothing is perfect but light..."
Neither parents are always right nor always wrong...!
sometimes parents expect much more than the ability of their child... the problem arises here....
Like one of my friend is forced by her parents to be a doctor.. otherwise she has to repeat.. Despite her parents know that MBBS is not the last choice.. but still they are forcing her.. she is too much tensed about it...
On the other hand... My parents... their let me decide what i want to do.. they never force me to do anything.. they just ask to... And i tried to fulfill their expectations...
Every type of people are present in this world....!!**
Re: Parents always do not make the best choices?
Most parents WANT the best for their kids but they are human. They make mistakes.
It's pretty silly not to take ANY accountability or responsibility for major decisions of your life - career, marriage and then blame the parents.
Re: Parents always do not make the best choices?
With all due respects, its equally silly if ppl are not able to see effect of their parent's choices on their lives.
Cuz if the don't they may pass it on to their kids.
Women have tendency of not accepting they are screwed up, they make/call it style/way to live life. And pass it on to their daughters. Where I live sardar girls are known to screw up their husbands by calling police on them repeatedly. Just because their moms; back home, endured abuse from their husbands.
I have seen obnoxious mom making their modest daughters dress like them.
A Muslim family I know, mom "lived" with non Muslim men, told daughter its ok to marry/be-with a non-muslim indian.(in lay man's lingo---beti I f-ed up---u don't have much choice now, now get a man in life any way u can )
Those were the extreme cases. But some times parents do try to neutralize our wild tendency by making choices for us. Some time the turned to be not the best choice.

Hear, hear!
I think the victim mentality and finding someone else to blame, unfortunately, is a universal affliction.
i think generally most parents want the best for their children, but culture, worries about what people will think/say can influence parents and lead them to make bad decisions for their children.
Re: Parents always do not make the best choices?
parents who r narrow mindend n conservative get stuck on one idea n r unable to look well thru things. and other times they r right though they feel wrong at the time.

How come all smart ppl are from Canada(
)
Re: Parents always do not make the best choices?
Parents try to do their best when it comes to making choices for children, however, that best may not be good enough, and in some cases, much worse. If you are sure that you know more than your parents on a certain few things, go ahead and make your own decisions.
Re: Parents always do not make the best choices?
Parents are human too and are liable to make mistakes like anyone else.
Re: Parents always do not make the best choices?
parents may want the best, but they may not always end up making the best of decisions.
When we were unable to even pick up a glass of water for ourself , these were our parants who wore us , gave us food for eating , guided us to school , told us about ways and roads etc.
They sometimes forced us too , to go to bed soon , it is study time , do not go with Mr./Ms A as he/she is not good boy/girle.
We grow up , learnd many things , came to decision making stage , what to study , who to marry , when to marry etc.
Our Parants still wants , Our kids should do go for option what I/We recommend or like for our children.
Here conflicts arises , very few times our views coincides to our parants view.
Here comes PARANTS TYPE
Some are wise , who will Convence thier kids
Some are Stupid , who will impose their desire
Some are Genius , Who will Communicate well to their kids and tell all the bad/good aspects of some Option , then let their kids to DECIDE their selves.
BUT PARANTS ARE PARANTS........... CHILDREN ARE THEIR ......
aankho ka thandak.......
and Parants NEVER want bad for their children , however they are Humainbeing and their decisions could be wrong.
Our Teacher told one VERY THOUGHT PROVOKING thing about parants
He told .............
See , when our holy Prophet born , His Father died Earlier , and His Mom died after 4 Months of His birth.
So to Eliminate the PARANTS FACTOR from His Life.
Re: Parents always do not make the best choices?
Nobody can make absolutely perfect choices for anyone. Nobody can make absolutely perfect choices for themselves. Risk is always there, you try to minimize it based on the information that is available to you, or you can gather, then other factors also play a role i.e. your thinking, ideas and concepts - too many variables and too many limitations.
