You are right, but during the past decade or so some other cities of Punjab are being urbanized too. I think this is the aftereffect of globalization, I dont think this can be completely stopped. The government should take some steps to preserve the culture of these areas though.

I was watching an ad about some housing society in Gujranwala (which is not far from Lahore) and the footage showed some good development.

When I visited Gujranwala around 10 years back, it was literally a pind. They got B-copy of Sheraton as ‘Shelton’. There was a Baraat from rural Punjab stayed in hotel during our stay and they did quite a halla gulla to make our life miserable.

Even Faisalabad with D-town and other posh areas depicted environment which remind you rural Punjab.
