Actually this is very true - when I see kids 20-21 years of age or younger driving Humvees and BMWs my first reaction is, either:

Mummy and daddy bought the car for him (or her) - how spoiled is he/she - they should have spent the money on something else, or
-
He/she spent all of their summer and part-time job earnings on a car - how foolish - they doesn’t know how to handle money.
When the guy or girl is older and actually earning money themself, then having a nice car makes sense. But that’s my middle-classness coming out - where money mattered and nothing was handed to me (except the opportunity to earn an education).
