Panic/Anxiety Attacks..

How many of you have it???Especially at work??

Re: Panic/Anxiety Attacks..

i have it and i suffer from a bit of stuttering when those attacks happen, it's something i'm trying to control and therapists cost so much money

what do others do to combat anxiety attacks or severe nervousness?

Re: Panic/Anxiety Attacks..

I do.

Re: Panic/Anxiety Attacks..

Well I had a family member who suffered from panic attacks and she took Prozac (Fluoxetine).
I wound not recommend it due to its harsh side effects.
But try some alone time during your panic attacks maybe go to restroom and sit there and rationalize things.
Personally I recite this dua, helps me:
Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Mas'ood (Radhiallaahu Anhu) narrated that whenever
Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) used to be afflicted in any worry
or concern, he used to recite the following supplication, 'Yaa Hayy Yaa
Qayyoom birahmatika astagheeth.

Re: Panic/Anxiety Attacks..

It all happens due to evil spells cast on you. I am going through very very tough time. I am possessed and also under black magic. Medications never help. they make u sleep only. I have used them for past 5 years. It can be cured with Quran only.

Re: Panic/Anxiety Attacks..

Panic/anxiety disorders are a medical condition. Please consult a doctor (preferably a psychiatrist) for treatment. One medication that has known to help this condition a lot is Klonopin (generic name Clonozepam). Again please consult a doctor before taking any medication.

Re: Panic/Anxiety Attacks..

^ It is not advisable to mention names of medicines like that even with a warning.

I think there are some calming techniques you can follow. Google it.

Re: Panic/Anxiety Attacks..

Well , that's the whole point of the warning. If they don't think it's right for you, then they don't prescribe it.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is specifically designed to deal with anxiety symptoms and actively reduce panic symptoms.

Re: Panic/Anxiety Attacks..

As a doctor i do know that a lot of drugs which are used to treat Panic or Anxiety disorder definately has side effects to it. For instance, drugs like Benzodiazepines which works faster than anti-deppressant causes sleepiness, impaired or poor coordination, and slowed reaction time.

Like another member suggested, try CBT it works more than half of a time since it's all
Supportive psychotherapy anyway, which includes education and counseling, which is beneficial because your therapist can provide general information about the disorder, its treatment, realistic hope for improvement. For instance, CBT Supportive psychotherapy would help you:

  • Not avoiding situations which cause panic attacks, recognize your fears, and respond with slow controlled breathing.

But please i highly recommend and advice you to consult with your physician. Good luck!
