Palmistry

Do you guys believe in Palmistry or palm reading science…if it is a science anyway…and to what degree…

Re: Palmistry

Not really. The danger is always there that you will actually start believing whatever palm readers tell you and start living your life according to what you are told. I have always found it fun to learn what all the lines mean, but I would never take it seriously.

According to the lines on my palms, I have lots of luck and fortune. :halo:

I’ve only had my hand read once and the woman told me I would be working with computers in the future. Isn’t practically everybody these days?

Re: Palmistry

^ lolz.

no i dont believe in it, but it reminds me of school days when all the girls n guys would start jharing their expertise on palmistry by reading each other palms, just for fun mind u. it always used to end up with what would be the first letter of ur husband/wife or how many kids u’ll have n how rich u’ll be in future :hehe:
i’ve never had anyone reading my palm professionally though. maybe i should just for the heck of it.

Re: Palmistry

I studied in Pakistan for 4 years. I did my F.sc. from Pak and during my first year in college i read this one girl's hand and just made up some stuff about she was going to get engaged in the next month or so and in reality she did get engaged in the next month. After that incident I was the famous palmist on campus:) Girls use to make a line during my free periods to read their palms. It was soooo funny at the time. I would come home and tell my mom and she would always yell at me for misleading ppl. I never told anything bad to anyone. Oh, miss those fun famous days;)

The only weird thing with me is that everytime i say something while reading someone's palm it comes true. I once told a girl i know here that she was going to have a boy and I swear she had a baby boy 9 months later.

Re: Palmistry

Okay...I have consulted a couple of site on palmistry...they claim the brain send electromagnetic signals to the body as brain controls the body...so the lines on your palms and elsewhere are formed...

Even in this modern age...still people rely on finger printings because the experts claim that they are unique...and a replica will only appear once in 64 billion people...

Like in all other science...we can go from superstition to religion and then to science...the exact science...oh well...the exact ever changing science...because the world is never constant...hmmmmm

Re: Palmistry

Allah says in the Quran

“(He Alone is) the All-Knower of the Ghayb (Unseen), and He reveals to none His Ghayb (Unseen).”

Except to a Messenger (from mankind) whom He has chosen (He informs him of the Unseen as much as He likes)”

[al-Jinn 72:25-27]

“Say: None in the heavens and the earth knows the Ghaib (Unseen) except Allaah”

[al-Naml 27:65]

So no one but Allah has knowledge of the unseen and future, and therefore these palm readers and fortune tellers are fake.

The scholars differed as to whether the fortuneteller is to be regarded as a kaafir who is beyond the pale of Islam, or whether it is a lesser form of kufr. Those who say that this makes him a kaafir quoted as evidence the hadeeth narrated by Imam Ahmad in his Musnad (9171), which says that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever comes to a fortune-teller or soothsayer and believes him has disbelieved in that which was revealed to Muhammad.” Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami’, 5942.

Re: Palmistry

^^ There is no way that i am claiming to know anything. Only Allah knows the unseen. I did what i did in college for fun purposes only. I was also very upfront with the girls that this is just a joke and don't take anything seriously.

Re: Palmistry

Okay…Allah is all knowing for sure…what Allah knows…we will never know for sure…how big is the universe…or what lies beyond quasars…is the universe expanding or collapsing…or something inbetweening…Allah knows…

I am sure…its somewhere written in Al-Quran…cannot find the right Ayaat at this time…that if you get something better…don’t forget Quran…

Al-Quran guides to a way of life…at least the people who are believers…but does not restrict to pursue knowledge and observations…

PS: Go read Al-Quran in the language the best you can command…

So long…

Re: Palmistry

Mahru, my post wasnt aimed at you, even i did the palmistry for fun in school as you described, as kids it was all the rage to try and predict futures by reading ones palm and what not :)

Zabardast, i really dont understand the point you are trying to make. Persuit of knowledge is not restricted but knowledge of the future falls within the circle of 'ghaib' or unseen and that only Allah knows and no one else knows. No palmist, no fortune teller, no coffee cup reader.

And as for Reading Quran in the language i can best command, sure, i do try to read it in english, but also nothing wrong with reading it in arabic, it flows together so beautifully in arabic that at times you cant help getting mesmerized by it.

Please explain to me what you meant in your post.

Re: Palmistry

^^ What I meant is simple:

Allah is all knowing.

Man follows the path of Allah...so man will come to know a little too...

Allah knows from the beginning till the end...but man can know a bit inbetween...

Telling about the weather, the course of planets etc. are all future tellings...

To make it more simple and mundane:

Suppose you are driving your car...you encounter the traffic light on red...you make a stop...but remember...light turning into green is a future event...why are you so sure that it will trun green...Allah should know only and not you...oh well...it may never turn green...wow...

Suppose you are travelling...you come accoss a hill...and you can not see anything on the other side of the hill...you are a firm believer...something like its 'ghaib'...only for Allah...you put yourself in the reverse gear...while the non-believers move on...

Grow up...mullahs... :)

Re: Palmistry

First of all, grow up yourself. Mullah = man of God, do you really wanna in one sweeping sentense insult all the Mullah's out there ? both good and bad ?

Now second, your analogies donot make any sense at all. Red and green lights ? Ya'akhee, thats called common knowledge, you and i both know that red lights turn green, its NOT knowledge of ghaib. Besides its all technology that can be explained by a technological person.

Explain to me where it says in Quran and Hadith that man can know a bit of things inbetween and i`ll say ok you are right. Until then keep your simple . mundane and absolutely horrible analogies to yourself.

As for putting myself in reverse gear, how will not believing in Palmistry put me in reverse gear ?

I know this, Allah is the one who ordains whatever happens, nothing happens without his knowledge and nothing happens if he does not permit it.

Quran and Hadith make it very clear that Allah alone knows whats gonna happen, even the Angels donot know when the Day of Judgement is, they are simply waiting for the day they get the command from Allah.

The Prophet, by way of Wahi was given hints about the future, signs that he then passed on to his follows so that they may be more informed about what to watch out for. He never claimed to be a fortune teller.

Now , comrade sir, please give me Quran and Sunnah proof of how humans can know the future.
