Palm Treo 700w

Anyone get the privledge to use this puppy as yet?

Ive played with the 650 and fell in love with it… i am thinking about getting one.

Recommendation or things to watch out for?

Re: Palm Treo 700w

The 700w has Windows Mobile 5 as the OS, so very different than the 650 with the Palm OS. They recently released the Palm OS based version, the 700p. I haven't yet played with the 'p' version, but 700w is pretty hot.

Re: Palm Treo 700w

I have 650 and it is pretty darn good. However, I recently read a review comparing 650 with 700w and HTC Wizard. Conclusion was that if you want to stick to Palm OS, then you can't beat 650. However, if you wanna go to Windows OS, then 700w is inferior to HTC wizard. HTC Wizard is offered by various cellular companies under their own brand names, e.g. in the US T-Mobile has it as MDA, Cingular calls it 8125 and Sprint also has it. Google "Cingular 8125" to check it out and then check for comparable models from your Canadian cellphone provider.

Re: Palm Treo 700w

DIfferences between 650 and 700p (which is Treo's new Palm OS based offering) are primarily camera (upgraded to 1.3MP), EvDo support for Verizon customers) and little tinkering around with button lay out.

Re: Palm Treo 700w

Faisal, I played around with the Wizard (8125) and I was a little disappointed with the performance. Although the phone performance was acceptible, as a PDA it sucked. Slow to do everything and hanging in some instances. I guess they kept the CPU slower to get the battery life up.

Re: Palm Treo 700w

Actually, if I remember correctly, Wizard has a faster processor than Treo 700. Plus its screen is bigger too. Full size key board also helps, I guess.
