I just came across some information about white gold and am almost convinced it is haram for men. I checked the bill from the jeweller and it says that my husband’s ring is made from Palladium. Is there a ruling about this? Is palladium haram for men? What metal should be used? It has a small diamond in it too.
From what I understand silver is allowed for men. I dont know abt palladium. First I thought his ring was white gold and was worried since I thought before that white gold is different from gold, just looks the same except for color. But I realised its the same essentially. I was thankful that his ring isnt white gold as I thought. But palladium instead
Is palladium allowed?
Re: Palladium Haram or Halal for men?
There are two kinds of white gold in the market.
14-carat white gold. For instance, 585 g of pure gold and 415 g of palladium are mixed in order to produce 1 kg of white gold.
58,5% of such white gold is pure gold and 41,5% of it is palladium; therefore, according to Hanafis, it is regarded as gold since most of it is gold. If its amount is equal to or more than the amount of nisab, zakah has to be given for it and it is not permissible for a man to wear it.

Wearing white gold is haram for men, because in fact it is yellow gold, but something had been added to it to change its colour to white.

Palladium is an entirely different element and not some sort of an alloy with a mix of gold in it so it's allowed just like Platinum, Titanium, Rhodium etc are allowed.
White gold is still gold so it's not permitted whether the ratio of gold is 1% or 100%.
Good choice though, I'm also thinking about either going for a Platinum or Palladium :)
