Palestinians MUST oppose Annapolis Trap, Start a movement for equal voting rights

Palestinians should come out in force and stop this Annapolis Trap. The zionists are not giving up west bank out of love, but because they know there end is near. THe palestinians must come out now and Oppose any Two state solution.

Palestinians should now start a campaign of equal rights and ask the zionists to give palestinians equal voting rights just like blacks demanded from the apartheid regime. The palestinians are going to be in couple of years a majority from the jordan
right to the mediterenian. Then we will see how democratic “israel” is.

The zionist project in palestine is bound to fail as the native palestinians are going to be the majority and they have the support of surrounding countries.

The native americans lost america to whites because they were overwhelmed and they were a small poor weak minority outnumbered by whites and without any outside support. Palestinians will never accept west bank as their indian reservation with the airspace and water controlled by israel.

we want a anti-apartheid like movement.

Israel risks apartheid-like struggle if two-state solution fails, says Olmert

· Jewish state is finished without deal, warns PM
· Effort to renew public backing for peace talks

Israel’s prime minister issued a rare warning yesterday that his nation risked being compared to apartheid-era South Africa if it failed to agree an independent state for the Palestinians. In an interview with the Israeli newspaper Ha’aretz, Ehud Olmert said Israel was “finished” if it forced the Palestinians into a struggle for equal rights.
If the two-state solution collapsed, he said, Israel would “face a South African-style struggle for equal voting rights, and as soon as that happens, the state of Israel is finished”. Israel’s supporters abroad would quickly turn against such a state, he said.

“The Jewish organisations, which were our power base in America, will be the first to come out against us because they will say they cannot support a state that does not support democracy and equal voting rights for all its residents,” he said.

The Israeli government is usually bitterly resentful of any comparison to the apartheid regime but Olmert’s remarks looked like an effort to galvanise support from a sceptical Israeli public for a return to peace negotiations with the Palestinians in the days after the Annapolis conference.

Israel has a 20% Arab minority who are citizens and can vote, although they are frequently discriminated against and are described by some as a “demographic threat”. Within a few years the number of Arabs in Israel and the Palestinian territories is expected to equal, and then exceed, the number of Jews in Israel and the settlements. Some Palestinians argue that they should campaign for a so-called one-state solution: equal voting and citizenship rights within a larger country that includes Israel and the occupied territories and in which Palestinians will soon have a majority.

It is not the first time that Olmert has risked the South African comparison. Four years ago, in another interview with Ha’aretz, he gave a similar warning. But that was a time when, as deputy to the then prime minister Ariel Sharon, he argued that Israel should unilaterally draw up a border with the Palestinians, withdrawing from Gaza and holding on to the major Jewish settlement blocs in the West Bank.

He bluntly described his goal then as being “to maximise the number of Jews; to minimise the number of Palestinians; not to withdraw to the 1967 border and not to divide Jerusalem”. But in the wake of Hamas’s domination of Gaza and last year’s war in Lebanon, unilateralism is discredited among Israelis, at least for now.

Olmert’s warning yesterday came on the anniversary of the 1947 UN partition plan that would have divided British mandate Palestine into a Jewish and an Arab state. His words resonated across the political spectrum.

Israeli historian Tom Segev wrote in yesterday’s Ha’aretz: “It is not easy to understand why so many Israelis still believe that a large Israel without peace is better than a small Israel with peace.” Israel had most to lose, he said. “With every settler who moves to the territories and with every Palestinian child who is killed by Israel Defence Forces fire, Israel loses some of the moral justification that led to the decision on the November 29 60 years ago. The Palestinians have already lost almost everything they had.”

Gerald Steinberg, chairman of the political science department at Israel’s Bar-Ilan University, said Olmert’s comments reflected a long-held belief. “The logic is precisely the same as the logic pursued by all Israeli governments since 1967: the realisation that you can’t have a Jewish, democratic state and still control the lives of millions of Palestinians,” he said.

He said it was still open to question whether the Annapolis negotiations would succeed. If they failed, the Israeli government might return to the idea of a unilateral withdrawal from most of the West Bank, but one that left the Israeli military deployed.

Re: Palestinians MUST oppose Annapolis Trap, Start a movement for equal voting right

How long you guys want to beat the dead horse?

Why it is that poor Palestinians are being asked to "rise up" and then lose whatever things they have?

60 odd years aren't good enough for "rising up"?

It is now time to "sit down" for a bit and figure out why they are being beaten and defeated so many times in so many years.

The worst thing that happen to any quom has happened to Palestinians. They lost their homes, businesses, schools, families, everything. Just because they didn't accept a peaceful settlement back in 1940s, 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, ............

If they continue to listen this "rising up" message, they will be in the same predicament in 2010s, 2020s, 2030s, ..........

So please let the poor Palestinians get on with their lives. Let them live in peace. Please!

Re: Palestinians MUST oppose Annapolis Trap, Start a movement for equal voting right

When these foreign white boy colonial thugs colonize your land and tell you to give up half of your country, you don't make peace you fight for your country.

IF the chinese invaded california and then asked the Americans to give up california for peace, I don't think the white americans would give up the land for sake of "peace"

Nelson Mendela was also called a terr-rist by these white apartheid supporters. But Mendela never gave up, he was in jail for soo many years and finally freed his country.

The struggle for palestine is JUST !!!! like just the struggle for black rights in south africa was just !!!

Re: Palestinians MUST oppose Annapolis Trap, Start a movement for equal voting right

Yet not a peep about the 250,000 Bihari Muslims abandoned by Pakistan for 36 years.

Re: Palestinians MUST oppose Annapolis Trap, Start a movement for equal voting right

60 odd years of betrayal by our King Sauds, King Abdullahs, King Farouks and all those scums, who made all this possible.
You are right there. We had traitors in Muslim history all over. Now we have one of the biggest Arab traitor in History of mankind participating at Annapolis.

Re: Palestinians MUST oppose Annapolis Trap, Start a movement for equal voting right

Not sure if one can blame dead kings of far-away lands for inflicting misery on Palestinians. If at all the blame goes to the "Palestinian leadership". They are the ones who lead their sheep from one disaster to the next.

Re: Palestinians MUST oppose Annapolis Trap, Start a movement for equal voting right

Blaming "palestinian leadership" for the suffering of palestinians is like blaming "native american leadership and chiefs" for the suffering of native americans. "native american leadership" couldn't stop the whites from stealing america and doing a genocide on the native americans.

Re: Palestinians MUST oppose Annapolis Trap, Start a movement for equal voting right

PBH, Palestinians were no hunter gatherers in 1948.

Native Americans used to roam around naked (almost) with no settled civilization in the North Americas. The nearest native Indian civilizations were in Mexico or even further south.

Palestinians on the other hand were fully developed human beings involved in farming and other businesses.

These Palestinians were living side by side with Jewish people for decades if not centuries. So don't compare aborigines with Palestinian Arabs. You are kind of dumbing down the whole thing. So use your good judgment before launching a rant please.

Re: Palestinians MUST oppose Annapolis Trap, Start a movement for equal voting right

The palestinians were not hunter gatherers in 1948, but were also not as advance technologically and militarily as these jewish colonial setters from western europe.

These jews were highly educated , they had the money and influence in the british goverment to call for the illegal "belfore declaration". These jews had the knowledge. These jews still controll many of the western governments, just look at these neocons.

The palestinians on the other hand didn't had the technology or the military means compared to these euro boys and jews, that is why they were deafeated by these jewish settlers and turned into the native americans of the 20th century.

Re: Palestinians MUST oppose Annapolis Trap, Start a movement for equal voting right

In the 40s, Palestinians had access to the same resources as those of Jewish residents of the area. They were using similar technology and their literacy rate was comparable (if not equal). Even now Palestinians in WB and GZ and Israel have the highest literacy rate among the Arab world.

Had you ever visited WB Gaza or Israel, you won't commit the blunder of comparing Paletinians to the naked aborigines of North America or Australia.

One major difference between Israelis and Palestinians was that the later used only the "rise up" method to fight, but they never sat down to think. And any struggle without using ones precious brain results in utter loss.

What boggles my mind is that so many Pakistanis fail to teach Palestinians the value of negotiated settlement. Instead many among us jump up and down in our comfy drawing rooms and yell at the top of our lungs. Sure it is not our loss, it is the poor Palestinians who pay dearly for throwing stones (and some times much worse) at Israelis.

Re: Palestinians MUST oppose Annapolis Trap, Start a movement for equal voting right

Quoted out of "King of the shifting Sands" by Barbara Smith
Yet Hussein, who when he was 15 saw his grandfather assassinated, kept it all going. A quiet master of realpolitik, he shifted back and forth with the region's unruly tides. When subsidies from one country dried up, he turned to another: at one point the CIA station chief was bringing him the cash personally, in a briefcase. From their beginnings in the office of a London eye doctor, there were at least 55 secret meetings with Israel's leaders.

That is the other side of the story: Hussein's "betrayal" of the Palestinians. His grandfather acquired the West Bank and East Jerusalem after Israel had fought its way to independence and Palestine was broken up; Hussein lost both the West Bank and Jerusalem to Israel in the 1967 Arab-Israeli War. That loss, Shlaim argues, was not inevitable: it was a mistake of epic and tragic proportions by the king.
As long as traitor families like Sauds, Abdullahs and Co pay Muslims to butcher Muslims just to avoid country inner conflicts as well as finger pointing of foreign powers at them. As long as Bush and Co keep family ties valid with such trailer trash, there is no single hope to succeed the fight on corruption at local government.

Re: Palestinians MUST oppose Annapolis Trap, Start a movement for equal voting right

I think you are mixing up things in a big way just like you compared highly educated Palestinians with naked aborigines.

Your reference to Jordan's king is just another half @r$e mutilated presentation.

If CIA was funding king Abdullah, then why do you forget that KGB was funding Nasir, Asad, and most importantly Yasir Arafat.

Why it is that CIA money lands someone in traitor pile, while KGB money is just kosher for you?

It is a cop out analysis that Palestinians were bunch of tribals running around half (or full) naked, and big bad Whites came and took their land.

My dear! Palestinians were fully developed highly educated people who made wrong decisions at wrong times. Their misery started with a Palestinian leader called Mufti Azam etc etc. Alaihe Salaam. He is the one who sold Palestinians to Hitler first.

After the demise of Hitler, Palestinian Muftis and their decedent leadership sold Palestinians to Commies.

And again it was a HUGE miscalculation on Palestinians part. Because their commie masters lost just like their Nazi masters.

Off course you can ignore all the history of Palestinians. And just like them, build a big heap of sand and shove the head in it. That's what ostriches do as well.

Peace and love for all.

Re: Palestinians MUST oppose Annapolis Trap, Start a movement for equal voting right

I don't know the recent history of Palestine but weren't the israleites in jerusalem a long before muslims? if that is the case how can anyone claim they are foreign invaders?

Re: Palestinians MUST oppose Annapolis Trap, Start a movement for equal voting right

You are not alone, many people take sides in this sad conflict without studying the events that resulted in 1948 clahses between Israelis and Palestinians.

Your argument of prior ownership is very weak and yet it has been forwarded by many. But the current standards of land ownership do not allow legal takeover of a piece of land if it was owned by your great great great g-father but he somehow lost it 200 years ago (let alone 2000 years ago as in case of Israelis).

The problem of Palestine can definitely be traced back to 2000 years. But the division of 1948 was based on much more recent landownership rights.

For example Palestinian Arabs willingly sold 1000s of acres of land in modern day Israel (especially in and around Haifa) during a period of mid 1800s to early 1900s. Back then Palestinians didn't realize that soon this wide open land will be turned in to states. The situation would have remained so but the WWII started. During that awful war Palestinians in their flash bulb moment, ended up siding with Nazis.

Once Nazis got defeated, Palestinians lost as well and the new borders were drawn by the victors UK, US, and Commies (read up Yalta conference).

The new world order of 1947 established many borders and many new states. Pakistan and India were one good example.

Jinnah accepted the international border between Pakistan and India and moved on with his remaining (albeit short) life. And so did many other countries in the world.

However Palestinian leadership utterly failed to grasp the new reality and refused to accept their border. They wanted much more than what was given to them. Unfortunately the same "rise up" advice (like this thread starter) has been very popular among many Palestinians.

Due to this insane "rise up" strategy, Palestinians have consistently been losing their territory since 1948.

It is ironic that after the fall of Commie masters, Palestinians leadership (read Yasir Arafat) changed their qibla to USA (just like Indians) and started asking for 1967 borders.

Unfortunately the Palestinian-Israeli well is so poisoned that nobody can safely drink something from it.

Then you inject Iran in this fiasco, and you realize that Palestinian "rise up" mentality always looks for the worst possible allies (Hitler, Commies, Asad, Saddam, and now Ahmad Nejat).

Unless Palestinians learn the value of "sit down and think", they will continue moving from one intifada fiasco to another.

Re: Palestinians MUST oppose Annapolis Trap, Start a movement for equal voting right

^ thanks for that quick history. It only strengthens the argument that for anyone to say the state of Israel should "go away" is not only impractical but also historically unfounded.

Re: Palestinians MUST oppose Annapolis Trap, Start a movement for equal voting right

Whatever the case

Both Jews and Arabs have a right to Palestine.

Israel was created in 1948 on areas which had a Jewish majority. Arabs attacked to destroy Israel, Israel fought back, and Palestinians fled with the retreating Arab armies creating the refugee problem.

Only Jordan integrated the Palestinian refugees in their country where as all the other Arab countries did not. What's more, other Arab countries expelled their Jewish populations as well. 1 Million Jews left Arab countries to immigrate to Israel.

Arabs attacked Israel again in 1967, Israel again defeated them and took over the remainder of Palestine and beginning the occupation.

Israel offered to withdraw from all territories taken in the June 1967 War in September 1967, but the Arab League rejected it.

So the innocent Palestinians have suffered due to Arab countries incompetence.

But the Palestinians deserve their home on West Bank and Gaza Strip, and East Jerusalem as their capital. Israel needs to dismantle all settlements and pay compensation to the refugees and settle them in West Bank and Gaza Strip

Re: Palestinians MUST oppose Annapolis Trap, Start a movement for equal voting right

I'm not sure where I stated that Yasir Arafat was hallow. You might state your arguments on judgement. I don't. My very reason was to proof that neither the Palestine Authorities nor their so called we-feel-pain-for-arab-brothers-are-dying-unjust hypos are better off.
But I think you took It too personally.
And just let you remind, that after KGB, CIA and Mossad have been the main financial sponsors of the same person: Yasir Arafat. A dead Arafat brought back to life.

If zionists had no backing from Great Britain and US, a State Israel would have stayed a dream of Dr. Rosenthal and Co forever.
