The current crisis in Gaza brings back in sharp focus the abject lack of any institutions amongst the Palestinians. It all revolves around personalities. Or personality.
Their whole administration is in shambles. There is no legislative body. No security. No justice system. Unless I am missing something.
If something happens to Yasser Arafat, what will be their new leadership and how will that leader gain any legitimacy from his people and from around the world?
