The Newsweek story has been reprinted in all the main media, which is not the case with your allegations. So unless you can provide any links from mainstream sources repeating your allegations, then you are still on a rather sticky wicket, and you dig yourself in further.

I have no objection over desecrating Quran, burning it, or anything else. Meaningless actions for me.

The only problem I have is that US goivt denies it, and then go to the whole world and tell govt how to be religouslt tolerant. This is hypocrisy.

Look at the Pentagon statements of denial. The ambiguities r there. They still leave a chance that these desecrations have happened.

I finally have to stick my two cents in. That is a ridiculous statement. There is no doubt in my mind that somewhere on this planet there is probably a Muslim who has trashed a bible. I’m sure there is a Christian somewhere who has trashed a Koran too.

You can’t logically just make such a broad generalization about any large group of people as you have done. That’s the problem with Muslims. They all generalize and refuse to accept that someone who is Muslim can do something terrible. They just deny any and every event where another Muslim does something that is haram.

How do you know the Pentagon is truthful or not?

The answer is, under the Geneva Conventions each prisoner is seen privately by the Red Cross. If there are problems the Red Cross brings it up with the captors. If the situation is not corrected, the Red Cross exposes the problems to the press. There is independent oversight at Guantanamo. If there were severe problems there the Red Cross would scream it to the world.
