Its complete nonsense. But this is a country ruled by the far right extreme. The right, no matter where they are, tend to be illogical and guided less by reason then by emotion. There is research that shows conservatives are of lower IQ, and tend to favor a simplistic world view.
Myself, I have always found it absurd that God should leave it to us to defend him. Why would he need such insignificant beings to defend the name of a being who is omnipotent in every way… Why should he even care that someone insults him? Is God that sensitive!!!
The whole issue over the Ahmadis is their definition of what a “seal of the prophets” means. Now logically it shouldn’t matter because Islam is about justice, compassion, and humanity, and not about title, and yet every value in Islam goes out the window when the tile of the Prophet comes into question… Why a title should be more important then the humanistic values espoused by the faith is beyond me.
