If you guys worried half as much about Arafats' leadership failures as calling for Rumsfelds resignation, we all might be better off. No one dares say a bad word about Arafat and his leadership, as this is considered to be Anti-Muslim Politically Incorrect speech. Rather than look inward at faults as you vocally insist on for Western governments, Arafat gets a free pass. It is far easier to blame Israel than to break ranks.

As for criticizing arafat who supports arafat you tell me, i dont if sharon kills him tommorow it wouldnt bother me one bit it he is same agent as Mubarak of egypt and abdullah of jordan.
As for western governments Amerikka is the one giving free pass to israel for every atrocity something, which is missing from your post why is that. Amerikka is rightly accused of its bias because it is biased only a fool can see otherwise.
One of the more remarkable solutions I have heard is from a guy named Frank Davidson, whom I have met. He is the designer and force behind the Chunnel. His specialty is "Macro Engineering". He recently held a symposium at my wife's university.
His idea is to create additional land. How you ask? Just like they did in Holland. Take the Gaza strip and expand it into the Med. it would take a number of years, but it could easily be done, and the area of Gaza could be expanded by a factor of two or three.
Not only would the project relieve overcrowding, but it would presumably be funded by the Saudi's, and would put the people of Gaza to work almost immediately. New city areas could be built, as well as resorts/Universities, and other businesses which take advantage of the scenic location.
Really? They can't figure out what to do with the land they already have, and you wanna give them even more land to fight about! :-P
If the problem is over-crowding, then this is an idea. But my assumption is that land is already there. The issue is who lives on the land and who governs it.
To be fair, he is just giving them additional land. But its a far-fetched solution that really does not address the problem. Its a nice idea, nevertheless. Who will fork up the money, anyway? US is almost getting broke now a days.

if Sharon is removed from the scene alongwith Arafat, and Israeli people put their faith behind Labor party, what will be the impact on the peace process? I think it will move a lot faster.

The current parties in power serve each other. The senseless suicide bombings by Hamas/Arafat serve the Israel far right and the current operations that are killing Palestinian children and innocents serve the Hamas/Arafat mentality. The support for both must cease.
