Palak/Saag Gosht - accompaniment

I’m making palak gosht tonight, but can’t think what else to serve with it? What other veg or daal?

Any suggestions?

Black daal? Moong daal?

Re: Palak/Saag Gosht - accompaniment

If it is as heavenly as my wife makes then I would not touch anything else.

Re: Palak/Saag Gosht - accompaniment

Do you have the recipe for how your wife makes it?

It is her family’s secret recipe. But I will try to con it out of her for you. Stay tuned for quite long time as it is not easy to con her. :cb:

I always have rice and some sort of daal as an accompaniment...and raita.

But I love raita with everything. :)

Agree with Mirch here, whenever we have saag/palak with some form of meat (usually boneless chicken or gosht) we have fresh home made naan smothered in butter and sprinkled with sesame seeds....heaven on a plate!!!

Palak Gosht!! My most FAV salan in the world!!!
Wouldn’t have anything else with it… why ruin a good thing eh!!!
…and if there’s saag… aur wou bhi asli sarson ka saag… then heaven… that’s what mum’s made tonight!! yum!!

Yes eat it with plain rice. And when you cook it, add a little bit of mehti to your palak gosht.

Another best combination is with roties of bajra!
