i agree. It also slows down the webpage. Just put up a plain simple gif besides the "gupshup" heading at the top of the page.
it took them 6-7 years to build this community... for what? for nothing?.. come on now it's time for them to take benefit of this hardwork and make few good bucks...

^ are you using kerio? Because I know kerio is able to pull such stunts (blocking ads). G3 your remedy will be appreciated by those who think banners are a waste of bandwidth (at GS). But the ones who don't like it from an aesthetic point of view can't do much about it :p ... that's what gamma pai is trying to put through .. ??

Guys....they're just harmless ads. I wouldnt be giving ideas to block gupshup ads on gupshup. Dont you see how wrong that is?

You see, if it was someone else making small talk in feedback, they would be advised to move it to the cafe and the thread will be locked. but since its the admin doing it herself, its all good :D
If you guys really wanna make some dough then why not use google adsense .... I know people who are making enough to support [hosintg et al] a huge website/forum. Simply shoving those banners into the user's face doesn't help much ...
