pakoras!

Re: pakoras!

thats the good thing about pakoras.. you can use the batter with so many different veggies/meat.

Re: pakoras!

SGC add the baking soda as well as Ajwain (Indian stores) to the batter. Some peopel also add anar dana(pomegrante seeds) but I am not such a big fan.

Re: pakoras!

Pakoras wo bhi ajwain aur anar danay walay hmmm :yummy:

Re: pakoras!

we fry the pokaras then when cool put in freezer bag and freeze them when guests come we just microwave them, also if you keep the batter stiff you can make the shape on greased paper on a tray, and freeze when frozen lift them off greased paper and put them in a freezer bag, in freezer, when you need them, just fry, we always make them like this, saves on all the mess, especially when guests come

Re: pakoras!

eww pakoras heated in the microwave are gross. I love the fresh fried crispiness they have if made well. The microwave ruins that.

Re: pakoras!

yea but you how else do you reheat if they get cold? isnt that what microwaves are for? obviously fresh frying is best but sometimes you dont have time and they still taste nice.

Re: pakoras!

Pakoray

this is the week of pakoray. why?? because it's been raining here since the start of the week and i've been wanting to make some pakoray with chaaye drools

so post away the recipes and pics.

Besan
1 tsp of salt
1 tsp of ajwain (sp?)
1 tsp of Sookha Dhania
1tsp of Laal Mirch
1/2 tsp of Kaali Mirch
1 finely chopped onion
1 large potato
1 green chili
water and oil

you can use baking soda but i didn't have it so i didn't use it in mine. instead i tried something different and used beated eggs and mixed all the ingredients with the eggs. then as everyone knows you take spoonful at a time of the paste and deep fry it until it's golden brown.

they actually taste better with eggs, they came out crunchy and soft with a taste of egg in there too
