3 cloves of garlic n a bit of ginger with some corriander seed crushed, add to onions n fry for bout 2-3 mins on low heat

add two medium tomatoes

then add salt n red chilli n haldi or basaar, i used kashmiri basaar, leave on low heat, at this point add a handful of basmati rice (washed)

empty 500gm of yoghurt into bowl or pan n then add 3 of the cartons of water n whisk or beat with a fork until mixed

add ur corriander

now add ur yoghurt n water mixture to the masala turning the flame high, n mix as u pour it to avoid getting lumps

carry on stirring gently until it comes to the boil at that point turn the flame down n put lid on n let it simmer for a good 30 minutes

Re: Pakora Karhi/Kurhi

sweetu mashallah looks very yummy... good job!
why did you add rice to the masala mix?
why did you not add besan in yoghurt water mix?
thanks

Re: Pakora Karhi/Kurhi

same questions as angelmist :konfused: … what happened with the besan thingy … i thought that was a must in kari…

loookss absolutely yummmmmmy

Re: Pakora Karhi/Kurhi

vesan is added to give it thickness right? well rice lets off starch n also gives the same effect :)

Re: Pakora Karhi/Kurhi

wow … so does the rice get totally mashed into the curry ultimately ? :konfused: … I am so surprised to see this kuri , its so new to me :hugz: … i am definitely gonna try it …

the rice just cooks itself whilst the kurhi is boiling, n it stays in grains except they look super cooked :hehe: but certainly nt mashed, although sme ppl choose to add crushed rice instead
