Wow...you can't get more arrogant comments than the above.
he's right about akmal....
but he's wrong about the tail starting at seven or eight....
i think it starts from 6 onwards....
infact its a discrete tail 1 and 2 come first....
and then its continued from 6-11....
Who knows the brilliant mind of our coach can do the trick :D
there is still hope..
If we need any better result, we should play Taufeeq and Asim and kick out Kamran Akmal. With Butt and Younis playing with these two along with Inzi and Yoyo, it would be very difficult for McGrath and company to humiliate Pakistan like this. These six can give enough brain-polio to the oponent bowlers. I believe atleast 3 out of these six can have decent scores with each other's support. Thats a guarenteed 300+ in each innnings. Atleast a draw can be thinkable with this lineup. Taufeeq and Asim can keep well against our bowlers.
My Test team would be....
**
Butt
Taufeeq
Asim
Younis
Inzi
Yoyo
Malike/Razzaq
Akhtar
Sami
Keneria
Khalil etc...whoever.

six authentic batsmen, just 1 allrounder and four regular bowlers, three of them are experienced. A mediocre keeping will not make a huge difference.
For ODI we have plenty of choices. Don't need to worry about that at this point, but main concern is to save some pride by equalizing the test series.

Yup, drop Hayden, Langer, Ponting, Gilchrist or any of the others and you will pay heavily. Good wicket keeping is very important and Taufeeq or Younis are just not good enough at test level. We are already handicapped by brittle batting line up why increase our misery?
WILLOW.TV, in dealing with DirecTV, will offer the Pak Aus series. (Watch Cricket Live streaming, Replay, Highlights much more| Willow)
**Don’t write off Pakistan: Lillee **
PERTH (Australia): Retired fast bowling great Dennis Lillee warned that Pakistan were a team that produced their best in big matches and despite lacklustre form on the current tour of Australia they could not be written off.
Pakistan take on Australia in three Tests, with the first starting at the Western Australian Cricket Association Ground in Perth next Thursday. “I think that the Pakistanis are always a team that save their best until it’s an interesting game,” Lilee told Perth radio station 6PR.
“I don’t see it as something they do on purpose you can’t take too much notice of their training and lead-up games.” Pakistan were beaten by 10 runs in a three-day match against a Western Australian Second XI in their opening tour match and although they won a one-dayer against a Cricket Australia Chairman’s XI, their form was less than impressive.
At lunch on the third day of their final pre-Test workout against the full Western Australian state team also at the WACA ground, their top order again fell cheaply in the second innings.
After making just 262 in the first innings, Pakistan were still 37 runs behind the Western Australian first innings total of 404 for 9 (dec) after losing 105 for 4 in the morning session. It was obviously less than ideal preparation for the opening test but Lillee said the Australians should not become complacent. afp
let's hope the article is true.

Woolmer and Lillee warn against writing off Pakistan

Bob Woolmer, the Pakistan coach, and Dennis Lillee have warned against writing off the Pakistan side ahead of their three-Test series against Australia. Pakistan have had a woeful start to their tour – they suffered an embarrassing ten-run defeat against a Western Australian second XI side, and were then thrashed by ten wickets against the Western Australian state team at the WACA inside three days. Both Lillee and Woolmer said, though, that Pakistan could lift their game for the big occasion.
“I think that the Pakistanis are always a team that save their best until it’s an interesting game,” Lillee told Perth radio station 6PR. “I don’t see it as something they do on purpose – you can’t take too much notice of their training and lead-up games. They are very much a team for the occasion and when they want to they can turn it on.”
Woolmer echoed those sentiments. “Obviously we don’t look like as though we’re going to beat the Australians – all right, we don’t look as though we can beat anyone at the moment,” he admitted, according to a report in ABC Online. “But I’ve seen the Pakistan team play like this and I’ve seen them come right. They are inexperienced in these conditions and are inexperienced in most conditions but there’s still a lot of talent in that team. If people are going to write us off that’s fine, fair enough, write us off.”
The game against Western Australia was Pakistan’s last chance to get used to the Australian conditions before the first Test, which starts at the same venue on December 16.
