Pakistan's top judge is suspended (Merged)

Re: Pakistan’s top judge is suspended (Merged)

Try keeping up with the discussion. I know it’s difficult for all you semi literates that have clubbed together with RealDeal, but try. We’re not talking about Governors, so why bring this up now (if you could read on the last page, I quite clearly corrected myself and said Mayors or other democratically elected bodies). The governor is elected by the president and can be discharged by the president. Clear? Now you tell me and give me evidence for all the crooks in Musharraf’s cabinet, or the people who he gave positions of power to.

PS The part you should be concentrating on is here

177. Appointment of Supreme Court Judges. (1) The Chief Justice of Pakistan shall be appointed by the President, and each of the other Judges shall be appointed by the President after consultation with the Chief Justice. Chapter 2: "The Supreme Court of Pakistan." of Part VII: "The Judicature"

The Judicature

(5) If, on information **[231A]](http://www.pakistani.org/pakistan/constitution/part7.ch4.notes.html#231A)* [from any source, the Council or] the President is of the opinion that a Judge of the Supreme Court or of a High Court, *
(a)* may** be incapable of properly performing the duties of his office by reason of physical or mental incapacity; or (b) may have been guilty of misconduct, the President shall direct the Council to **[231B]](http://www.pakistani.org/pakistan/constitution/part7.ch4.notes.html#231B) , or the Council may, on its own motion,] inquire into the matter. *
