That is a joke. We need a proper football league, with good corporate and federal support so that our players get the best training available to them. Can't compete at the international level while playing essentially amateur level football in Lyari.
Remember, 3 years back we didn't even have this. Appreciate at least something. You can't compare Pak football with Premiere League.

No, I'm not comparing it with the EPL. I want Pakistan to have a league that is suitable for a country its size. Countries much poorer and smaller than our own have better leagues. I'm encouraged by the fact that we atleast have some sort of infrastructure in place now.
With that said, I think India has done an even poorer job with football than we have. Football has a deep rooted history in that country yet they still haven't had any success to brag about in the international stage. They have a very good top league in place, they have states in which football is more popular than cricket and they also have corporate support. Not sure why they still suck.
i agree with X2, there is lack of organization. pcb has made millions of dollars during mushrraf rule. there are stadiums, advertiz, overseas coaches and technology. we won 2 U-19 world cups. problem is none of the provided material have been used to lay a groud work for future. there is incompetence and it is showing every where. we won because of imran, javed, wasim, waqar, saeed and inzamam not because of system. same goes with sqaush and hockey. we will not see same players again, but if the grass root level and organization is there, team will show consistency.
I can't believe people are lamenting hockey decline. It really is not a guy's sport.
it was a guys sport for US until they got a smackdown from India and lost 22-0 or so. a record that stood for a long time, I believe it only ended when pakistan destryed Macau with 50-0 or some ridiculous amount.
anyways US promptly shelved the team after that stellar performance against India

No Pakistan holds junior's record 55-0 handed to Macau in 1987.
i think its a good concept for the short term, and as a supplement, but nothing will beat building home talent and the right infrastsructure from leagues and coaching etc.

what d u think?
I personally feel It's a milestone of Pak (football) history.
But couldn't agree more with you. Where there is Know-How transfer there is success. We need this know-how to build foundations for a proper football nation. Training camps, organisation & adminstration, staff, trainers, couches, sponsors, r&d etc.
I wouldnt spent too much on senior players or the players in team right now, but rather invest in our future: the youth. This is most important.
And let us not forget to "polish" each player, which is lacking at Pak cricket.
