Re: Pakistans -should they live in Pakistan or in the West?
I don't wish to diss any Pakistani (as I'm myself one) but do you really think that going back of "educated" Pakistanis is going to help Pakistan? Let me try to give you a hint, it may be a very 'minute' but does reflect a lot....
When we are on airport in US (not PIA part) we see regular business being conducted and we follow the pattern, now come to PIA and life is a chaos, there is no name of 'customer service' even customers are all trying to jump the line and push 3-4 bags when only 2 are allowed and each bag will be 10-20kg more from the limit and there is trouble..... now look at the changes from boarding-in flight-landing .... you'll see how our behaviors change, now go to immigration counters at airports in Karachi/Lahore and you'll see how "well behaved" citizens turn to "regular" citizens.
Re: Pakistans -should they live in Pakistan or in the West?
Well people from every country immigrate to other countries, It can be for different reasons , economic, social or otherwise, The person who started this post must have done so all in good faith, but I was disppointed by the un-educated remarks by the "educated people"
Dear, first of all every place has its merits and de-merits, You cannot compare a developed country with an un-developed country becuae that's why they are called developed or un-developed.
As par my experience most of the people I have met in the west could very well be sent off to hell straight(not even mars or jupiter), good and bad exists everywhere . The people I have met and known in Pk are much more civilized then the so called westerners, and there's less kameenapan there u see. Oh but You see Pakistanis make one mistake, they are way too polite with the foreign returrned goofs and thus the FR's take them for idiots and try to take advantage. I dun think anyone gets a red-carpet treatment in the west (one has to work hard and create a niche for him/herself anywhere in the world).
Btw , I have seen many (un)american and british auntis, unclez and families trying to find contacts in Pakistani customs to take more luggage then allowed and "VIP" treatment (good for their sorry selves).
Oh btw catwoman (Who on Earth would stay in Pakistan for the sake of the country - Pakistanis are only patriotic when it comes to cricket (ooooo we've got some steam)
with great respect, "most" of the time I hear bitter ladies in the west make this comment is because they have been dumped by Paki Men. Its got nothing to do with the post but just wondering..... .......................
still wondering
Re: Pakistans -should they live in Pakistan or in the West?
I at one time was investigating jobs back in Pakistan. But my parents were totally against it. One thing for sure is that if you have money, then life in Pakistan is THE BEST.
It home after all. Even though I never lived there, the sense of attachment is still there.
Re: Pakistans -should they live in Pakistan or in the West?
PD, I am yet to see any American/British integrating into south America or even in Greece or some other parts of the world. There are lots of British living in their isolated colonies in Greece, the same is the case for Americans in Manila or in Dubai. Sarkar, integration is a two way street, and there are lot of hypocrites driving in both directions.
But comming back to the core issue, almost all the sociologist agree that there are three basic reasons for migration, which are:
Firstly, that every living being in this world would like to live in a place were his life and the life of his children/sibling is protected or the sense of security or peace is available, that’s the first requirement.
Secondly, where he is not treated unjustly, where someone in power would not take his assets or his right, in other word the sense of Justice.
And lastly the place where he can prosper, develop or have employment.
So wherever you have a combination of these three conditions people would love to live there, and people would migrate to these places. So now if you look at Pakistan, you will find that Pakistan still have a long way to go for just establishing its Judicial Infrastructure. Once that is in place, we might look at provision of justice to ordinary people, until then the migration trends would not change.
Its not a bad idea that the Pakistani diaspora should work for the betterment of Pakistan. I trust they are doing their best in their limited way, but the administration should start thinking on these lines as well, not only for the Pakistanis in the west but for the Pakistanis in Pakistan.
Re: Pakistans -should they live in Pakistan or in the West?
You shouldn't limit to where people should live by their skin color. There's pros and cons about both places.
Personally, I think they should live in a place where there is lots of racial diversity so they can learn to be more tolerant of others. That's a big difference I've seen from Pakistanis raised in the West vs. Pakistanis raised in Pakistan.
