Re: Pakistan's Role In Defending Islam And Muslims
Is Pakistan a Theykeydaar of rest of Islamic World? Have you ever talked to anyone from Burma, Palestine, Iraq, Libya and noticed that they are asking their govrnment to protest against the bad conditions of Pakistani brothers that are being killed by Suicide bombers and loadshedding, Mehngaai, Poor living conditions etc etc?
Re: Pakistan's Role In Defending Islam And Muslims
If you agree to Pakistan was not founded in the name of Islam, then what Muslims of India had to do with protection from secularism?
We agree the country was not created in the name of Islam. The question is then why would you separate them from India ? To protect the Muslim from the injustice (perceived or real?) they would have faced in secular India is the logical conclusion.

Muslim and Islam have no relation? I think you are considering Islam just a label to living beings of sub-continent. But, secular India and West have no problem with such labeled muslims.

Let me dial it down a bit for you. If a country is created for Islam, then the constitution is Islamic. If a country is created for Muslims of India, it is for people who practice the faith can do so without being discriminated and also for people of other people.
Then the question, the assumption here was that Muslims in undivided India could not practice their religion. Sections of Muslims (Aha medias) are discriminated in Pakistan for their belief not in India.
Mr. Jinnah never wanted a Islamic republic, but a republic for Muslims.

It wasn't necessarily per se about the right of worship in india, but more about the political power of muslims. Jinnah had come to realize that in the overall scheme of things, muslims would be disfranchised by the ruling hindu majority due to their sheer numbers (it has happened to much extent in today's india) which would have an effect on the economic and social well being of the south asian muslims.
We pay more taxes in america now, so what was all the fuss if british imposed 4% tax on tea? It still led to the boston tea party and the american revolutionary war.

That means, if Sikh (instead of muslim) had chosen Jinah as leader Jinah would have created country them.
People dont forget to put Jinah's secular version in thier arguments but being muslim country supporting non-muslim country to invade a muslim country could never been a vision of Jinah. Jinah might been a secular person himself but people of pakistan was not secular for that time nor to the date. If you believe that Jinah wanted a secular pakistan, we have to acknowledge that people were (and are) illitrated and ignorant of their leader's vision. And u can verify this fact even today by measuring the gap of comunication and diference of interest between politicians and common people.

May be...I am not going to comment of people's literacy level....but based on some of Jinah's own speeches, it is fact that Jinha wanted a country where people of other faith are treated equal those who follow Islam. The modern term for such a country is Secular. He may not have had the time to get it in the constitution. I agree, those who came later and those who backed him...the feudal of Punjab.....who got the courage to change his vision.

I regard Jinnah as most respectful political leader of pakistan but to me, important thing is what people of pakistan are. And people are not secular.

True....seeds for that has been sown the moment relgion played a part in the creation....as I said Jinah may have thought he is helping Muslims (at least those in Muslim majority areas as all regions right up to the southern tip of India had/has at least 5 % Muslims).
