We agree the country was not created in the name of Islam. The question is then why would you separate them from India ? To protect the Muslim from the injustice (perceived or real?) they would have faced in secular India is the logical conclusion.

Muslim and Islam have no relation? I think you are considering Islam just a label to living beings of sub-continent. But, secular India and West have no problem with such labeled muslims.
