Pakistan's response to Bin Laden's death

I still believe that this whole thing about OBL’s death in Abbotabad was staged by USA. They are definitely after Pakistan now.

Pakistan’s president has denied accusations his country was harbouring Osama bin Laden, as America pledged to find out how the al Qaeda leader remained undetected.

Asif Ali Zardari said it was “baseless speculation” to accuse Pakistan of turning a blind eye to Bin Laden’s presence in a heavily fortified villa in Abbottabad, just 60 miles from the capital Islamabad.
In an article in the Washington post, Mr Zardari denied Pakistan “lacked vitality” in its fight against terrorism and claimed his country was “perhaps the world’s greatest victim of terrorism”.
He said: "Some in the US press have suggested that Pakistan lacked vitality in its pursuit of terrorism, or worse yet that we were disingenuous and actually protected the terrorists we claimed to be pursuing.
"Such baseless speculation may make exciting cable news, but it doesn’t reflect fact.

"Pakistan had as much reason to despise al Qaeda as any nation.
“The war on terrorism is as much Pakistan’s war as it is America’s.”
He acknowledged that bin Laden’s assassination was not a joint operation between his military and the Americans.
Pakistan’s High Commissioner, Wajid Shamsul Hassam, told Sky News that such accusations “hurt”.
"Pakistan is a victim of terrorism and it is really below the belt when we are accused of passing information to the Taliban or al Qaeda and accused of not doing enough.

“All these things hurt us more than anything else. We have been at the forefront of this war on terror and we have been fighting al Qaeda.”
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s ambassador to the United States has pledged a full inquiry into how Osama bin Laden lived undetected in the mansion, close to an elite military academy.
“Obviously bin Laden did have a support system, the issue is was that support system within the government and the state of Pakistan or within the society of Pakistan?” Pakistani ambassador Husain Haqqani told CNN.

“We will do a full inquiry into finding out why our intelligence services were not able to track him earlier.”
Sky’s Alex Crawford, reporting from Abbottabad, said: "According to the Pakistani government and the Pakistani president the entire city did not know that Osama bin Laden was living amongst them.
"There will be an awful lot of questions about how much the Pakistani intelligence - the ISI - knew about this and how much the Pakistani military knew.
“The military academy is a huge structure in this city and most of the population is connected to the military in one way or another.”
It was unclear how long Bin Laden had been holed up in the house - a three-storey building with few windows and surrounded by high, barbed-wire topped walls - with members of his family.

Re: Pakistan's response to Bin Laden's death

Let us assume a scenario! just for Discussion purpose, formed before and after this incident

Some 300+ Raymond Davises wandering in Pakistan, renting, buying, building property, giving full support by Rehman Malik, who for some reason has disappeared.
Incidents from Jan. to Date, where it was publicly stated by US officials that US-Pak relationship is at all time low...

And after the incident

Kiyani cancels his trip t Brussels...

US - Buy/Rent/Lease and Build this property in Abottabad, and have kept it as one of the there strategic Asset, ( it is known fact that US agents have these kind of locations through out the country, the property itself looks like a prison, no one ( unless want to seek some attention would build and stay in this kind of place)

I am sure there is more than Raymond Davis which caused the friction between US and PAK... something Pakistan didn't liked, hence, statements from Kiyani, and SIT-Ins from Imran Khan, building public pressure against US and its operations in Pakistan

And then Boooooooooooom.. happens what never happened in last 10 years, suddenly, in a operation deep inside Pakistan, Osama got killed, his dead body was not shown to media and instead of burial is washed in the sea with in hours of his death ( the sea from Abotabad is more than 1000 km)

Now, the whole world turns against Pakistan!!! WOT is no longer an issue, Pakistan help to negotiate with Taliban is no longer required, US is in habit to leave things in the battle ground, they have done that earlier and they are going to do it again...

What US got... a victory
What Pakistan Got... short-term loss and long term benefit ( if they can work on it)
