Skimming thru FBR website I came across this guy Javed Masud who paid income taxes totalling Rs 14.5 million probably from 1995 to 2007. Can ANY single political leader be this much honest? If I remember correctly income taxes filed by Benazir Bhutto and Nawaz Sharif in one of the year in 1990s was less than Rs 50,000 (even this is probably too much) while Miandad had paid Rs 100,000++. This is the honesty and loyalty of these politicians towards our country.

But when one receives dividened from the company, he becomes a tax payer in his own capacity and he/she should have a national tax number.

Mostar another thing, this site is just an NTN number verification tool. Alot of people in Pakistan dont have NTN numbers, and still pay taxes. My dad has an NTN number, and I can find him on the list, but uncle does not, and hes not in the list, but he pays taxes as he works for the Govt.

If he is employee at the Govt, then he should have an NTN number. In case of supplier of services or goods, he may not have an NTN number but would have been paying additional 2% tax (over 3.5% and 6%) through deductions at source payments. That additional tax has been withdrawn from 1.7.2008.
But a person who receives a dividened from the company and that too as a owner director should have NTN.
One of the possible reason for not finding M Nawaz Sharif would be that he was out of the country during last 8 years and FBR issued fresh NTNs in 2002.

Thats what I was thinking but then I don't know the taxing rules whether you have to have an NTN or not if you are outside country, his in-Pakistan income probably never stopped so IMO he should be liable to pay taxes (that is if he declares his income).

Dude, I can name tonnes of Govt servants not having NTNs, and they arent in this list. Does that mean they dont pay tax? Try typing in some famous people who work for the Govt, u wont find them here either.

That might be the negligence of the drawing disbursing officer paying them salaries then. But for a company director, there are so many statutory returns/requriements that can not be submitted without having an NTN.
