Thanks for posting these, guys. I remember the 1972 10 rupee and the 1982 100 rupee notes. I remember the two rupee note.... it had become so small it was laughable. Few days ago, I saw a Rs. 1.00 coin. I posted a pic. of that in the "An unexpected find".

Transistion era. Same Indian notes being used till newer ones were designed, printed and circulated.

Sohail - Rs. 1.00 is what I remember from my last trip. Previously, the size was similar other notes. When I got the change back the first time I gave out a Rs. 100.00 note I had to stop and decide if I was being duped after seeing the size of the Rs. 1.00 note. I confirmed with family later that the notes were correct. They looke sooo tiny!!!

And thanks to everyone who's posted the notes... I remember a few. :) Sigh...... I went back to my childhood for a second.

yes, every bill is of different size, and that's the thing i don't like about pakistani currency. some are big while others are small. and they are of different colors. with US dollars, i usually put 20 dollars bills on top and one dollar on the bottm and then fold them. people think i only have ones. but you can't do this with pakistani currency because of the difference in sizes. so those pic pockets know how much money you have whtn you take it out of your pocket.
