I'm tried of the team politics that have plagued us for the last decade or so. Above is the team that I'd like to see make a new start. This team is capable of being a real world beater. A couple of things that I would concentrate on if I were the coach of this team.
1) Make sure the team gels together. No more infighting. The captain must take a proactive role in this matter.
2) Our players must go back to basics which mean line and length for bowlers regardless of what pace they're capable of producing and for batsmen they must run for every run. They must convert singles into doubles and threes into fours.
Give them a year to settle and they'll take the 2007 World Cup like it was theirs to begin with.
With Rashid Latif not retiring, the modified team would be:

"almost". Had to change from Kamran Akmal to Rashid Latif. Also, Younis Khan is out for Faisal/Misbah/Hasan Raza. And Saeed's partner should be Taufeeq or Imran, not Saleem.

I think this is the best team we can go with at the moment. I doubt Inzamam will be a good captain but he is the only choice we have. Taufeeq Umer did a good job as wicket keeper against India and I think we should keep him in the team as an opener as well. By doing this, Pakistan can bring in an extra bowler or batsmen. Or bowling attack is certainly not the same without Wasim and Waqar, but its pretty average. I think Inzamam, Younis Khan, Shoaib, Afridi, Razzaq better find their rythem quick...or they need to be booted. With the current team, we will have 4 pace bowlers and two spinners. Afridi is a good part time bowler when Shoaib or Razzaq are getting smashed.
How can you make INZI Captain? A person who gives o% affort in fielding. Has no idea of field setup and hardly can encourage his mates besides be some one who help them out of crises or in weak moments?
No way!
Maybe the most experienced but surely has not the capablilities of being the Skipper of Pak Team.

Waqar is thinking about stepping down as captain? Thinking? He better retire. He is not captain material. I don't think anyone on the current team is captain material immediately. Inzimam is not captain material. Saeed Anwar doesn't have the leadership skills even though he still might be our best batsmen, Wasim no way. Of the younger guys i think Younis Khan, Afridi, Razzaq and Imran Nazir have the capability to be captain. But first they have to lift their games.
I have seen Imran Nazir play and he can be hella good. If Afridi wants to be a good batsmen then he will be a good batsmen. Razzaq has to improve his bowling and be more consistent with the bat. Younis Khan i think will be hella good player.
