Pakistan's lineup

I’m not sure if its really as strong as people seem to think. On paper, everyone from 1 - 10 can bat and put runs on the board but when it comes time to deliver many of the players turtle. Apart from Younis, Yousuf, and Inzi there are no guarantees. I have faith in our openers rite now (Malik and Hafeez) and I know they will make runs but after number 5 (Inzi) I think we’re quite weak.

Look at what happend yesterday: After Yousuf gets out Afridi (who has all the talent in the world) comes out and has trouble right away. His dismissal is debatable but the honest truth is he didn’t look comfertable. Razzaq was disappointing. Kamran was a joke. Rana and Shoaib are improving but by no means are match winners with the bat.

So my point is that even though on paper our batting lineup may look top class, the players that come in after #5 are suspect.

Your thoughts?

Re: Pakistan’s lineup

Don’t think of Pakistan as Steve Waugh’s Kangroos just yet. Pakistan is a DECENT One Day side. If you look at England, WI and NZ; Pakistan, RSA and India are DECENT ODI teams, not the BEST. When all guns are firing in our ODI squad, even Austrailia will find it hard to beat them. We have some really exciting (yet inconsistant) guns under the belt.

Thats is why we still hold the title of THE UNPREDICTABLES OF CRICKET. And believe me thats the beauty of it, we bring the fire and glory in One Day games. When you are only winning or losing, you become predictable like Aussies or Zimbz, and its kinda boring.
