Pakistan's last "significant" test victory in Australia

Everyone is talking about that victory in Sydney back in 1995 however I am not sure if a lot of them have realized that it was a dead rubber and Australia had already won the series prior to that game.

Prior to that Sydney game, Pakistan won another game back in 1981 but again it was a dead rubber.

Their last significant victory was actually back in 1979 when Sarfaraz Nawaz destroyed the Aussie batting at MCG.

30 years have gone by and approximately 1,100 test matches have been played between test playing nations since that game at MCG. Lets see if Pakistan can pull off a famous victory today at SCG, Inshallah.

:insh: We really need to win this test as a team and as a nation.

Come on Pakistan. Make us proud.

thanks

Are you feeling proud now?

Re: Pakistan’s last “significant” test victory in Australia

Even this victory was against an Australian side depleted by the Kerry Packer circus.

The last REAL victory was this,
3rd Test: Australia v Pakistan at Sydney, Jan 14-18, 1977 | Cricket Scorecard | Cricinfo.com
in 1976/77

This test marked the emergence of Imran Khan

Better luck next time :)

Re: Pakistan's last "significant" test victory in Australia

We need aggressive Captain, we need Captain like Hansie Cronje, Australia ko Australia ke andar ja kar haratay thay South Africans under the Captaincy of Hansie Cronje. Aisa time bhi aya tha Australians pit jatay hotay thay k South Africa se jeet jayen koi match, lagatar 4/5 one day matches Australia harty rahi hai South Africa se. Hansie Cronje ne Aussies ko bandth ke rakha hua tha.
