When the PMLN government was formed it was thought that it’d be good for business. The foreign currency reserves have decreased from $11 to $9 billion since their inception. What could be the reasons for this? Money Laundering or something else?
Re: Pakistan's foreign currency reserves
Anything other than money laundering would be a surprise
Re: Pakistan's foreign currency reserves
Oil and gas. Its paying for imports. You will notice next month it will increase because we will have remittances. Then it will decrease again when we pay back interest on a loan.
Re: Pakistan's foreign currency reserves
Debt servicing and purchase of petroleum products are main reason for sapping the reserves. Pakistan is now heavily dependent on remittances from overseas Pakistanis.
Re: Pakistan's foreign currency reserves
Where are the naysayers now about NRPs having no say about Pakistan ?
Re: Pakistan's foreign currency reserves
Errr...we aren't Indians. There are no such things as NRPs. Pakistanis can hold dual nationalities. So you have Pakistanis or non-Pakistanis.
Re: Pakistan's foreign currency reserves
debt and import repayments and falling inflows.........
