So far the only logical reply is by Saby.
For once I would like everyone to put their self interest aside and think about the well being of the team.
Do you guys really think changing captains only 2 months and 4 matches before the big event will help the team.
Wasim is our star player rightnow and we would rather not put more pressure on him by handing him the captaincy.
He has had 3 stints as Pakistan skipper, and has not done too well! We have not won anything under him of note, and it seems to pressurize him into poor performance.
Waqar is a poor skipper too, as is Moin. Moin has no strategic understanding of the game-see the Karachi 2001 test V England. I mean how did he lose that? :(
Captain aisa banda hona chaahiye jo dusro se apni baat manwa sake laraai ke bagher....i don think ke youhana ki koi maanega....Wasim is one of the better of options if he doesn't betray his country once again....he has got experience...confidence n everything...a great player! he can still bowl maidens in one day against the best batsmen.
Team ki haalat dekh ke lagta hai ke agar Super Six round mein puhunch gaye to buhut bari baat hogi....India has a better team than us...not that good bowlers but they can still win...great batting line up

Some of the major successes of Wasim as a capatain are:
Beating India in India
Winnings Asian Test Championship
World Series in Australia ( never done by any other Paki captain)
World Cup 1999 runner's up
Under Waqar, Pakistan has only done one respectable stint, and that was when they beat Australia in Aussie; and even then Waqar's own performance was crap as he got only 1 wicket in a 3 One day series, and that too of Glen McGrath!!!
Shoaib being the captain?? First of all, he gets injured to quick…and the second thing, the guy has way too much attitude. Its true he is a really good bowler, but still…he is the beggining stage of his career, and if he has soo much attitude already…I wonder what he will do if ge gets 400 wickets like Waqar. As of now, Waqar should be the captain of the team, althought I personally don’t think he is good…but we have no other choice at the moment!
I personally am a great fan of Waqar and Rashid co. but i realise that Pakistan has decent chance of winning the World Cup only when Wasim Akram is left in charge of the team.
Wasim has a stretigic mindset that no other Pakistani captain has. He has plans that work. Last worldcup, he made Pakistani batting post good totals with smart planning, i.e. Having defensive players to open innings and launch at the end. He motivated sub standard players like Wasti and Mahmood to perform well at international level. He also used Saqlain very smartly, and under Wasim's regime, Saqlain got piles of wickets and he even bowled at the death of the innings that even spinners of Shane Warne's class cant think of doing!
It is evident that Pakistani team has a strong sense of direction under Wasim, players are well motivated, and also a good strategic plan is designed and implemented.
Also, Wasim would love to have twilight of his career brightened by the world cup success, and he will be more motivated than ever. Hence, as much as me and you love Waqar and Rashid etc, we must now hope for Akram to lead the side because that is the ONLY chance i feel we have if we are to win the world cup. Hay na?
well i have respect for wasims skills and the stuff he has done for pak cricket but alongside, i truly hate him bcz he is one of the "Juwari" among our cricketers!!! .....biggest satay baz!! i still remember the 1999 world cup final and the match againt bangadesh!
just dont even wanna think about itt.....bhot ghusa ata hai!!
speaking from his past i dont think we should make him a captian!
this guy had his chance!! i have no trust in him no matter how well he performs .......money always talks!
