Pakistanis to fire on Pakistan

[FONT=Bookman Old Style]Once someone said what is the need of Israel or India taking pains to damage or destroy us as we ourselves are self sufficient for this. Nawaz Sharif labeled the Pakistanis living abroad who have taken foreign nationalities as our brothers. He said these foreign passport holder Pakistanis are still our family and they can come to Pakistan any time. He then introduced some special Pakistani Origin Card on production of which no need for a Pakistani visa. Ardeshir Cowasjee in his column has told his readers that Dr. Safdar Sariki who was kidnapped by Agency few months back is still not traceable. He says Police, Courts, human rights organizations, hunger strikes, protests by family, statements all have failed. I have full sympathies for the family and I wish God may bring the Doctor safely back home from where ever he is. According to article Dr. Safdar is the chairman of some Sindhi nationalist organisation. He has obtained US nationality and is settled there. His wife, son, daughter all have US passports. He came to Pakistan to struggle for Sindhi nationalism. What is Sindhi nationalism or any other ism for this purpose is not a matter here. One of our Prime Minister was US national whom still we are paying pension. On a question from a reporter he replied that his US company has invested heavily in India but nothing in Pakistan which now he was considering to do so. We have many in our assemblies who disliking Pakistani nationality surrendered it and now have come to “serve” the same disliked Pakistan. To my knowledge there is no other such a “fortunate” country in the world where foreign nationals hold prime ministerships, membership of parliaments. And there is also no such high educated people particularly from Ali Garh University who on their leader’s getting U.K nationality dance in whole the Karachi distributing sweets. However my question is one and really a logical one. As I have read when an immigrant in US gets US nationality he takes an oath that he will follow the US policies and in case of any war between his parent birth country and US he would treat his original motherland as his own enemy. I am not aware of exact wording of this oath but in simple word meaning is some what as observed above. It is written on the wall one day US is going to make Pakistan also an Afghinstan or Iraq. So my question is would all these Dr. Safdar or our US nationality holder prime ministers and Pakistanis practically raise their guns standing in US army against original motherland Pakistan? Definitely they would they why are we taking them as family members, why are we allowing them to keep still Pakistani nationality and what good we can expect from him. This is a very simple question which does not fit in my mind.

here is the oath in case anyone wants to know

""I hereby declare, on oath, that I absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state or sovereignty, of whom or which I have heretofore been a subject or citizen; that I will support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I will bear arms on behalf of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform noncombatant service in the armed forces of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform work of national importance under civilian direction when required by the law; and that I take this obligation freely without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; so help me God."

Re: Pakistanis to fire on Pakistan

Now, why are we so worried about Pakistanis with dual nationalities harming the country? Its an easy scapegoat. The mess in Pakistan is not created by Pak expats. Its is by locals, 100% real Pakistanis..unlike us banaspati Pakistanis as some refer to us.

Taking one off examples like that of Altaf or Moin Qureshi is clutching at straws. If Moin Qureshi had brought his company to do business in Pakistan then people would be pointing fingers that he was taking unfair advantage of his position and getting lucrative contracts on a non competitive basis for his company. I am actually proud of the fact that he kept his political responsibilities and his business plans separate. That he was impartial and did what he felt was in the best interest of the company. I see him as an upright person for that. On the other hand, local grown lechers….sorry leaders have filled their own pockets with ‘loans’ that never get re-paid, taking over properties and land.

Worrying about overseas Pakistai dual nationals to come as part of a force that at some point in time hypothetically may attack Pakistan? Would the same energy of thinking nto be spent better in trying to figure out how to prevent the local termites chewing at the foundations of our society. The ethnic violence, the sectarian violence, the corruption, the ghunda gardee.

Yeah some desi rats ran away from Pak as asylum seekers and what nots, but they were local home grown Pakistanis for a far longer time than they were overseas dual national Pakistanis. Most of their harkaat started when they were not dual nationals, there lameness and ghunda gardee took place mostly in the time that they were only Pakistan citizens.

Lets worry about those types, sitting in Pakistan, hurting the country for their own interest and then running overseas for protection. Self serving people are at all levels in society, from the black marketers, to ppl taking bribes to give contracts to their friends companies, to institutions admitting students for favours, to people hurting the economy by not paying taxes, to people harassing others in the name of ethnicity or faith, to people blowing up other groups, to people

And you know what, control these rats, stop them before they run overseas to get away from their deeds and then complain that dual national Pakistanis have their interests or allegiances placed elsewhere. It seems like such rats had their allegiance only to themselves and filling up their pockets, getting power, etc.

You have ppl in Pakistan that in the name of provincialism are hurting national interests, why do they still have Pakistani citizenships. Oh and I 100% agree that the rats that escaped from Pakistan and got citizenships elsewhere, and who are working against Pakistan should have their citizenships stripped.

in the end if we worry less about ---overseas Pakistanis of teh right age group who hypothetically may join an armyu or be drafted in an army and be on combat duites and be assigned to some hypothetical war against Pakistan-- and worry more about the Pakistanis in Pakistan working againstthe interest of the country even in ways liek not paying their taxes...we would be much better off.

P.S. Pakistanis did fire on Pakistanis, but it had more to do with local greed for power than some overseas drafted kids showing up with some army. remember 1971? remember the butcherings on ethnic grounds in karachi? remember sohrab goth, operation clean up, remember shia doctors being shot, remember firing on funeral processions for religious political leaders?
