Whats he done that undermines Punjabis? He supports the Chaudries… You cant get much more Punjabi then that. The Chief Justice is a Balochi, not a Punjabi, and the Lawyers movement has been from across the country and is definently not isolated to Punjab.

So whats he done that goes against the dominant ethnicity? Anger against him stems from the fact that he is abusing his power, making a king of himself, not being anwerable to the constituion or any elected body.. And the one democratic body that could check his power he dissolves through an act thats the classic reactionary move of any dictator.

As for support for BB, it is more in southern punjab which feels it has been treated like a step brother by central punjabis from lahore. Even if we look at history, multan and areas were either part of sindh or were separate [like the bhawalpur state pre-partition]. This is why you can even find support for MQM pre-nineties operation and also pre-May 12th…
