yes it is true, in Pakistan in the 1930's. Wait...there was no Pakistan in the 1930's, never mind.........
may be we named the country after sindhi province where indus river flows.

Pakistan was created when first Indian embraced Islam :)
...
it should be gonwanaland to represent all the ancient inhabitants
anyhow indus valley inhabitants were not present day pakistanis.
Taz, you make a good point, now go and tell Bangladeshis to call themselves East Pakistanis.
i think the guyz point is very valid, as its known, that the name India was derived from the land which is part of Pakistan now!
But i don't think we should change our country's name as Pakistan was the name given to the country by its very own founders!
so its true! most pakistanis want to be indians!
we dont want to be Indians, the guy is making a point that the name India rightfully belonged to Pakistan, but the Indians have stolen it…the Indians cant help it, cheating is in their nature… ![]()

pakistanis want to be arabs.
here's one to throw in-my family is Pakistani. But i figure-50 some odd years, isn't enough to separate a culture. Believe my i understand the religious conflict, but otherwise everything else is pretty much the same. I just call myelf desi :)

Hindustan/India should be used to refer to the whole sub-continent (Pakistan, Bharat & Bangladesh) not just Bharat.
Why do the Bharti's get to keep the name Hindustan, it's not fare...
[/QUOTE]
Hindustan is not Pakistan... Hindustan is Hindustan.
Why should we associae ourselves with the name India..
We should be trying to distinguish ourselves, find a new identity.
Our problem is that everyone just associates us with India... Is there such a thing as Pakistani culture? I think not.
We may be the smaller of the two countries, but why should we have to be associated with the larger one? Japan is a smaller country then us, but no one associates them with China!
Pakistan is Pakistan, let India keep its name, let India have its culture.
I understand we have a alot in comman but that commanality hurts our identity most. Pakistan needs to define itself, and leave India on its own.

Pakistanis want to BE PAKISTANI... To hell with everyone else.
The sad thing is, that our govt just doesnt do eneough to promote the uniqueness of our culture. There are aspects to Pakistani culture that are native only to Pakistan and no place else...
Hello G!!!!!!
I am proud to be Pakistani !!!!! and I Should be !!!!!
No One Wants The Name India For Pakistan !!!!!!
I Think PAKISTAN is a beautiful name for our mother land with a very beautiful meanings as well !!!!!!!
Aur itnay Khubsoorat Naam ko Chor kar India Jaisa Bay Matlab Naam Rakhnay Ka Shauq Kisi PAKISTANI K Dil main Nahin Hay !!!!!
Sorry Agar Kisi Ko Bura Laga !!!!!
Khush Raho!!!!!
The point here is that India..Hindu...are words that came from Pakistan/Muslim world. By all means Indians and Hindus can keep their name, just realize that they were not indegenous in nature. Lets not politicize this matter its history and we can agree on that without getting into who should have what name.
