Most critics believe the Pakistanis lack intensity and aggression — two qualities that helped them shine on previous tours of India.
Dhoni also said that on their previous tour of India in 205, the Pakistanis gave a better show. “They (Pakistan) almost have the same team that came here last year and apart from Inzi (Inzamam-ul-Haq) almost all their key players are here for this series,” he said.
however passive Inzi was during his time... I've never seen this level of flaccidity permeate the team psyche... everyone played it safe - and this is due to Malik's own mentality - he's too clinical to his own detriment.
I miss Imran's time when he used to encourage players to go all out without thinking about the results... it backfired often but at least the team and the audience weren't left with that lacking feeling.
The roles of players in the team need to be well defined - players like Malik, Younis and Yousuf who can build and consolidate... and others who can complement them with aggression. Also, this team seems to lack the ability to improvise.
I think our team lacked aggression because the expectations were quite low. Currently we are in sort of a rebuilding process and losses are normal and I'm certain the players knew that too. There seemed to be very little sense of urgency.
Although Im no fan of him, I have to agree on that. Especially the fielding aggression factor was very very low. But lets not underestimate Pakistan. After all 3-2 win is a close one. Agar agression daal do then Pak would trash Inida 4-1. Kyun Indian Guppies?
yeah close one indeed… as for putting in aggression…ummmm…well…who will put aggression in them? i fail to understand that if team itself is not interested in winning then why should the supporters care? they won the 5th ODI and showed a lot of commitment and determination, not to mention discipline and game plan. but where were all these ingredient for the first 4 games? ghairat kia sirf 5th game ke liey hi jagi thi? seems like they put in their max for a lousy 5th game when the series had already been lost. why not show the same passion to WIN the series? :halo:
as for 4-1…you wish. indians don’t play for themselves. they play for their country. they give respect and high regard to their country and the chances they get to play for their country and team. unlike pakistani players who always seem to have their own interests and agendas ahead of their country and team. unless they start to play as a unit with passion and determination and little bit of loyalty towards their fans/supporters. i highly doubt they’ll develop into a match winning team.
You mean Pak was never willing to win the Series? I think you even misunderstood Dhoni him saying these very words.
Anyways I think feelding has been no good in all matches. Event he last one. That means lack of aggression, thus proving Dhonis point. But rest was ok.
Oh haan I forgot Pak plays for themself, they are bunch of loosers and have some attitude. Where was the same unit of India last 24 years?
