Pakistanis falling in love

OK, this is more about the Pakistani mentality.

A friend of mine (male) who was born and brought up in a village in the NWFP visited his cousin in Faisalabad and saw this chick and fell in love with her. This was like back in end of December and now its May. Has been five months since he “fell in love with her” and since then, he has only seen her twice, through casual meetings that only lasted few minutes. He is convinced that he is in love with her and wants to sacrifice EVERYTHING for her and blah blah blah. She wrote a “love” book for him to read. Is this love? This guy is 18 years old and i think that chick is the same age.

He is so much in love with her, to the extent that he sits and thinks about her the whole freakin’ time. He says nothing in this world appeals to him, apart from her.

When it comes to these things in Pakistan - do they fall hard in love, even if they barely know the person? With me, personally, i cannot just fall in love with someone by looking at them - yeah have interested, but die hard love? How is that possible? How can i help him “move on”??..(no, cannot marry her or be with her - family refusal)

Re: Pakistanis falling in love

it seems more like lust and girls in pak well i am not gona say anything cos it will be sterotypin

Re: Pakistanis falling in love

Oh man comon - tell me, girls in pakistan....??? I need to know what the stereotype is "love" in Pakistan is?!? Cuz I think thats whats going on...

Re: Pakistanis falling in love

make him realize its not real love.. its just lust.. im not sure maybe show him some other girl with a really nice personlity whos pretty and whatnot...

Re: Pakistanis falling in love

It's called an infatuation.

Re: Pakistanis falling in love

Hmmm... yeah I tried to explain all that too him. He is so simple and humble or "sada" - i swear to god, he is crazzzzyyy about this chick. How long do you think it will take to get over her? I hate seeing him like this - he makes long distance calls to me everyday crying......

Re: Pakistanis falling in love

Oh yeah and whats the deal with Pakis singing love songs to each other, so they can "wear" each others voices?.... so cheesy, eh?

Re: Pakistanis falling in love

well, he is 18 :) he needs somebody to worship. Let him!!!

In pakistan most ppl do not have the option of getting to know someone better this kind of drama sounds quiet reasonable to me.

Re: Pakistanis falling in love

well in pk from wat i know and ppl i have come accross the girls lead the guys on as well by acting a certian way i am sayin wat i have seen in pak when a girl did the same thing to my cousin like she wrote him love letters(so 90s) and all of this and he wanted to marry her but the family did background check on her u know wats she like and they asked ppl from her own family basically not have a good cabilre
another person from my own family trapped 4 of my cousins and even got pregant with one of their kids and all this in pk so it is not like girls in pk are angels but not all of them are bad

Re: Pakistanis falling in love

hmmm ....pakistanies r soo shareeef and simple ...didnt knw the reality of life ...let them enjoy their lives in lobing each other :)

Re: Pakistanis falling in love

Re: Pakistanis falling in love

yeah she called him once or twice on his cell phone and they would “sing” to each other - in Pashto. :expressionless:

Re: Pakistanis falling in love

This really strikes a cord with me. I really do think that something like this happend to him.

Re: Pakistanis falling in love

Re: Pakistanis falling in love

well yeah, it’s probably just lust…i mean come on! after TWO slight meetings he’s “in love” with her? :bummer:

Re: Pakistanis falling in love

"Verily love renders one deaf and blind."

Re: Pakistanis falling in love

Replying to the topic I'd say, Paindoo ko Paindoo akhir kyoon kaha jata hay.

These guys actually haven't seen much in their lives. I don't blame them. If I was born in a village, I would have been the same. So when they do see, such things happen.

And in NWFP where siting ladies are much too rarer, loves at first sight are more too frequent.
