What’s wrong these people? Do they think they can come off as better Muslims If they claim Arab ancestry? Is it inferiority complex?
I’m talking about such people here.
Be it online or in Real Life, why do people make such ridiculous claims?

Re: Pakistanis claiming Arab or Persian ancestry
Because they are retards. Its like the people who take the Hindu caste system saying they are Rajputs or something and that gives some holy divine special characteristics over us normal people.
Re: Pakistanis claiming Arab or Persian ancestry
theres some truth init somewhere
afaik we are a mix up of arabs, persians, afghans (khorasanis) and bharatis
sandhu786 is just messing, he did it a couple of years ago too. theres no pride to be taken from ones lineage
Re: Pakistanis claiming Arab or Persian ancestry
I think one can be proud of ones ancestory. I think that is legitimate. I believe in genetics. :)
However, I disagree that has much of an influence on their islamisity.
What bothers me is why, as a forum we are so concerned with faith.
Re: Pakistanis claiming Arab or Persian ancestry
Unfortunately I think it's a disease - people claim these lineages because they want to be more "exotic".....I know that some pakistani people have Iraqi ancestors etc. but in the end you are Pakistani! Every individual on the planet is the product of years of mixed races - be it white people, brown people etc. If your ancestors came from Iran 400 years ago, what's the point of saying that you are Irani? Or if your great grand dad was Arab - that doesn't make you an arab is it?
I'm not saying that people should deny their roots but sometimes they end up making an a.. of themselves when trying to explain that they aren't "100 procent Pakistani"
No matter what in the end you are Pakistani...and you can't run from that fact. What about accepting that?
Re: Pakistanis claiming Arab or Persian ancestry
All I'm trying to say is that there is nothing wrong with being Pakistani - why do we need to make us more "exotic"? I think it's a big shame
They are idiots.
All mankind is created equal according to the Quran.
Who cares where their ancestors came from?
Some (not all) of their ancestors might have been Arab/Persian but they have had more local blood mixed into them over the centuries.
Our ancestors don't define our ethnicity anyway, our language/region does, we are Pakistani (Punjabi, Pashtun, Urdudan, Sindhi, Balochi, Kashmiri) now...
They make an ASS out of themselves by claiming to be foreign just because one of their ancestors might have been foreign, they make a laughing stock out of themselves and their countrymen.
I respect all Muslims (and humans) but I really don't see the fascination in being anything but Pakistani, we have such rich cultures be they Punjabi or Pashtun...
And personally I think Pakistanis are the hottest thing since the Dorset Naga...
...I don't know why anyone would want to be Arab or Persian. Okay I admit they're more refined, cultured and presentable than us but that's because Pakis wont leave their paindu lifestyle and dresscode even in the west, they're not hotter...
Re: Pakistanis claiming Arab or Persian ancestry
funny thing is that some arab people say that they have some some italian or european ancestory
theres some truth init somewhere

You are an idiot.
Pakistanis are Punjabi, Pashtun, Urdudaan, Kashmiri, Sindhi and Balochi.
We are not Arab, Persian, Afghan (Pashtun is not synonomous to Afghan anymore, it is not an ethnicity but a nationality now), Indian (that's not even an ethnicity and India was created a day after us, the British Indian Raj is a different entity to the Republic of India).
Re: Pakistanis claiming Arab or Persian ancestry
If you don't respect yourself no one else will either.
It is irrelevant where your ancestors came from, it is what you are today which matters.
By claiming false foreign decsent (or by boasting about it even if it is partially true) we are not gaining anyones respect, we are showing our inferiority complex and people will look down on us more.
Arabs/Persians/Greeks will never consider you their own just because you claim your great-great grandfather was one of them, they will simply look down on you more because you've not got confidence in your own identity.
There is nothing glamorous about being an Arab, Persian or Greek.
Duur ki been suhaani laagey, even they want to be something more exotic, no one is content.
We belong to the Pakistani ethnic groups Punjabi, Pashtun etc. and we should be content with that, if we show confidence in who we are, people will respect us more.
I love being Paki (Pashtun, Punjabi etc.), my only wish is that Pakistanis were a little more refined, cultured and modern... Shalwar Kamiz is so archaic and untidy, it's not even uniquely Pakistani, every country's dress has changed over the centuries, time ours changed aswell, I wish they'd not wear it and wear pants instead, it's an embarassment, we can be Pakistani without it. Erm also painduness and Paki-yobs annoy me... But I'd never claim to be anything I'm not, I'm proud of who I am despite our faults, shortcoming and painduness...
I think one can be proud of ones ancestory. I think that is legitimate. I believe in genetics. :)
What's so legimate about it? Are the genes of an Arab better than the genes of a Sub-Saharan African or a Pakistani? Why can one be proud of it? Can someone be "superior" to another based on their ancestry?
I also believe in genetics.
The genetic difference between us humans and chimps is roughly 2%.
Do you think we should also be proud of roses because they smell good or proud of the bees because they produce honey and other things that we don't have control over?
What bothers me is why, as a forum we are so concerned with faith.
Faith is part of our everyday life. So why shouldn't one discuss it?
This thread isn't about faith though. If it was, I'd have started it in the Religion Forum.
Re: Pakistanis claiming Arab or Persian ancestry
Searching for and being proud of your roots is not a bad thing. But putting others down because you have some kind of superior ancestry is lame and idiotic.
Why no one told me this when my brothers used to call me chimp ![]()
