Secondly, have you ever been to some of the industrialized western countries? Have you seen how people over there work? Stop being so ignorant and look beyond Bush, its not him alone running the country. How do you think they have become the leaders in technology and education? Just go and try to get a driver's license in Pakistan, and do the same thing in the US or UK, and you will find out the difference. Look at our police (the so called Muslim police) who openly takes rishwat, and look at their law enforcement.

ARe you talking of new orleans police that was about to be disbanded and FBI was to be brought in due to rampant corruption... I belive we pakistani's somehow belive that all the prolbems are in Pakistan and everyone else is in heaven. BUt you are right it shouldn;t take a bribe to get a driving license.

Baadsha, please dont even compare our civil departments to that of the west. As for the police in the US, there are always bad apples, but they are still far superior to our police. Our police does not even do their jobs anymore. All they do is hunt for public transport and truck drivers, get bribes from them. Corruption again, is at its all time low, despite what the Government is doing to put an end to it, simply because its reached all the grass root levels. As for my other point about education and technology, I hope youre not trying to compare our country's educational and technological infrastructure with the west.

I knew you were after a list......I won't bother, but for curiosities' sake how long does a list have to be before you accept the opinion that US authotrities are worse the pakistani authorities..... i am asking for sake of curiosity as to how your mind works... but you know i just don't have time.....
so the onus of proof lies on you....
unless you can prove that things you say don't exist in pakistan yet exist elsewhere and these things are related to progress then bring your rationale forward...
cos you can't disprove anything i have said so far... and your tactic simply has been to add to a list of things that you believe are different in terms of curroption on the pakistani list... and as soon as i bring a list that match things from Wests' system,, all that you will respond by is by adding one more thing for me to find by adding it on pakistani side..
but this does not indicate your rationale, nor is it constructive though... neither have you said how is curroption linked to progress..
Taliban did implement true sharia. Cutting of people's feet and hands is true sharia. Denying women education is true sharia. Intolerance and ignorance is true sharia.
Don't fool yourselves into thinking true sharia is something to look forward to.

no it isn't... partially implementing laws of shariah is not shariah itself... and denying women education??? can you provide evidence,, as their is ample evidence to contrary that girls education were top priority in taliban state... infact what taliban did was to force them to study medicine..
now that kerzai is here,, apart from few schools for the media circus,, a lot of schools have closed due to security reasons...

No, the Taliban had to be forced to send some girls to school. And their rule was the purest form of sharia. Almost all sunni clerics said so.
Implementation of Shariah is the only thing that can take Pakistan to the peaks of progress.
But I do believe that we ARE progressing. Who says we aren't?
Infact the speed with which we have been progressing has increased.
We are a third world society, a poor country, and definitely have a lot of problems but we have certanly progressed a lot in every field are continuing to do so and inshallah will.

Implementation of shariah will turn us into Saudi Arabia. Do you consider a country like that the peak of progress?

tsk tsk... the evidence is quran and sunnah is clear in regards many aspects of shariah they neglected and openly called their state an imarah.....akhi they could not be forced to give up one man (osama) so where is your evidence that they were forced to send some girls to school.. do you really want me to humiliate you by showing my evidence that girls education was their top priority???
tell you what if you can't find the evidence in two days let me know, and i will scoop it for you.... and it will be an unbiased evidence...
