the idea is to create an online space to tackle the issues
of education and development in South Asia (or Pakistan) through an
academic approach. The expectation would be to feature increasingly
higher quality submissions, and to create an institutionally neutral
space to better understand the myriad of changes that South Asia is
currently undergoing and to analyze the relations of power and
discourse of ‘development’.

inshAllah, we might need a coordinator but hope is that for efficiciency and economy, we will be cross trained in all the work tasks of running an office or a structured on-line presence for seriously committed and like minded folks, who are in NY area and are willing to work for this project in a sophisticated and well- meaning professioanal way.

well, see if we could get together Pakistanis who are from diverse fields of professions in education, IT, medicine, law, engineering, pharmacy, business ... then we can get together and see what each one of us can or may be able to contribute in facilitating the purpose of the focus group.
i won't advise making this thread a focus group as we throw ideas here more for fun talk, than serious engagement and practical implementation.
i hope to harness support of people who are meeting the criteria and are willing to devote a few hours, to this project. eventually, i would love to gather theses of Pakistani students from US based universities and compile that in a journal format to document our own intellectual and academic excellence.
eventually, yes, we will need a web master.. i know a bit of html and front page desk publishing... but perl, asp, php & java scripting will be helpful in having a fully functioning real time/interactive website later, after we have gotten a structure in place for which direction we would design this project to go. i am in education field and i strongly believe that we need to educate ourselves and the world to obtain our place and strength in making Pakistan a hub of intellectual discourse and advancement in higher education, for the purpose of improving all aspects of our development: educational, economic, civic and cultural.
hope this clarifies. i know may guys and girls might say, she is a boring person, but i hope that the like-minded see the vision, as successful as i do.
