pakistani women in USA 'liquid bomb' plot

BREAKING NEWS

West Virginia airport has been evacuated after a suspect bottle of liquid was discovered in a passenger’s carry-on luggage, officials say.
The bottle was subjected to a swab test and a sniffer dog examination and both tested positive for explosives.
A security guard first spotted the bottle in the bag, Tri-State Airport authority chief Jim Booton said.
Officials say the woman is of Pakistani origin and was travelling on a one-way ticket to Charlotte, North Carolina.
Chris Yates from Jane’s Aviation told the BBC that both tests were extremely sensitive.
The likelihood that a container that had not come into contact with explosives would come up positive on both tests was extremely low, he said. The incident comes a week after UK intelligence officers say they foiled a plot to blow up planes using liquid explosives

Re: pakistani women in USA 'liquid bomb' plot

While this is likely a false alert, it goes without saying that "naam kiya roshan Pakistaniyo ka 'jihadiyo' nay".

Re: pakistani women in USA ‘liquid bomb’ plot

I wonder what naam roshan George Fernendas did to go through such an ordeal..LOL.

Re: pakistani women in USA 'liquid bomb' plot

Like it or not, if you have ties to Pakistan you will be looked at very closely. A label for the country has been made and it is worldwide, that is the sad truth.

CEREDO (WEST VIRGINIA): A Pakistani woman whose daughter's

carry-on luggage caused an airport to shut down for 9 1/2 hours says it was
her ethnic background, not a few bottles of suspicious liquids that set off
security officials.

Initial laboratory testing by the FBI turned up no evidence of

explosive materials in the bottles carried at Tri-State Airport in West
Virginia by Rima Qayyum, a 28-year-old Pakistani woman dressed in the
traditional Islamic headcover.

No charges were filed against the woman, who was never detained

and was cooperative when interviewed by the FBI.

Qayyum's mother, Mian Qayyum of Jackson, Michigan, said that her

daughter is four months pregnant, lives in Barboursville and is innocent.

"It was not only a false alarm, it was racial discrimination

because there was nothing," Mian Qayyum said. "They should clear her name
and apologise on national TV."

The FBI did not return messages on Thursday night seeking

comment on the allegations.

A screener noticed a bottle in Rima Qayyum's carry-on bag as she

was going through security before her 9:15 am flight on Thursday to
Charlotte, North Carolina, airport authority president Jim Booton said.

The terminal was evacuated at 11:25 am after two bottles of

liquid in the bag initially tested positive for explosives residue twice,
and a canine team also got a positive hit.

Chemical tests of the bottles' contents later turned up no

explosives, said Capt. Jack Chambers, head of the State Police Special
Operations unit.

Shame on Americans....
Shame shame shame .....

Re: pakistani women in USA 'liquid bomb' plot

She had liquids in her carry on bags. That's against the rules now if you've read the news. Shame on the lashakrs and hezbs for giving Pakistan a bad name in the first place.

Re: pakistani women in USA ‘liquid bomb’ plot

Thats what they said initially.

Then it turned out that the security was wrong in determining that… yes it was the ethnicity and headscarve which really set the alarms, even the test equipment is afraid of Pakistani and Muslims now resulting in wrong results :hoonh:

Re: pakistani women in USA 'liquid bomb' plot

Yes she was wrong, read the post above the initial tests resulted 'positive' meaning that she was carrying explosives, now later on they found out that was not the case.... that should actually trigger several issues: Is security really reliable? Who is developing test cases? Are people really trained? etc.

Re: pakistani women in USA 'liquid bomb' plot

Maybe that's the trigger, Captain.

Re: pakistani women in USA 'liquid bomb' plot

But she still has liquid in her body...about 70%...howzaaaaaayt... :D

Re: pakistani women in USA 'liquid bomb' plot

Says something about the swab test and dog sniffers. One of those that makes you go hmmmmm....

Maybe the dogs are now being trained in racial profiling... If the swab test equipment was faulty, I guess it only faults on Pakistani origin travellers....

Like I said, makes you go hmmmm...

Re: pakistani women in USA 'liquid bomb' plot

No reason to go Hmmmm. If you have connections to Pakistan lights go off, the label has been made by fundamental Pakistanis and can only be removed by Pakistanis.

Re: pakistani women in USA 'liquid bomb' plot

^^^
Typical white mullah response. So how are all Pakistanis supposed to be held accountable for some stupid Pakistanis who are bend upon violence. Kind of like since some white's in the U.S. are racist that means all white U.S. citizens need to be viewed as racists until they prove themselves to not be as such. Ridiculous response.

Re: pakistani women in USA 'liquid bomb' plot

If some white guys come to Pakistan and try to blow up our airliners, what do you think ASF will start doing with whites?

Re: pakistani women in USA 'liquid bomb' plot

^ I used to think there was difference between third world countries and 'first world' people.

Re: pakistani women in USA 'liquid bomb' plot

The point is how come they just happened to stop a Pakistani women, and than their initial tests just happened to show positive results, the dog just happened to sniff it and inidcated that it contained explosive materials. Doesn't say much about their testing or dog training methods, does it?
