Several weeks back, there was an article in the DAWN regarding the history behind Pakistani trucks’ decoration. i didn’t save it, and i didn’t read it through until the end, it would have been so interesting to figure out the history behind this. When did truck decorating start ? 20 years ago? Or has it always been an art in this part of the world? i remember the coolest thing was to be driving behind one of these trucks and read their slogans - they come up with some cool ones, i think most of them have already been discussed in this Forum in the past.

the whole culture of driving trucks, being a truck driver, the design of trucks, the verses written on trucks, the small gatherings these truck drivers have in their addaz all over pakistan, music and kahwa and naswar and the life on the go…

its just amazing :k: and so different

one of pakistan’s famous folk singers ataullah khelvi, originally from mianwali, used to be a truck driver, and ever since he became famous, the truck culture was brought to the forefront…
