Re: Pakistani Temporary Protected Status in the US
because the students are free to seek jobs just like the other students, citizens, permanent residents, included.
same, while the best scenario would be for those people to get jobs, the state of the economy is for everyone to see with 9%+ unemployment rates. so, if best scenario is not possible, the worst scenario that they have to go back does not occur. with available capacity of permanent residents and citizens who can do the work, the ability of a company to hire a non resident is affected. You cant just go and change the entire immigration and labour laws.
unemployment rate of 9%+
pakistanis can reject charity bill
they can also reject the aid.
before we start opposing and whinging in despair, why not first show the figures, how many of those students who have completed their graduation are actually from flood affected villages and have lost everything that they cannnot come back? .. btw it does not only impact students who have finished graduation, if someone was being financed fully or partially from family who is in those areas and now can not continue education because source of funds has stopped, they would otherwise have to go back as well.
Pakistanis and govt of Pakistan is more than welcome to do just that, why not?
