NEW DELHI: Pakistan will face “ferocious” protests when they play in the Champions Trophy cricket tournament next week in India, a right-wing Hindu leader warned on Tuesday. “Our opposition will be swift and ferocious if Pakistan dare to play on Indian soil,” said Jai Bhagwan Goyal, president of the New Delhi chapter of the Shiv Sena.
Pakistan play their opening match in the Rajasthan city of Jaipur on October 17. They take on New Zealand in Mohali on October 25 and South Africa at the same Punjab stadium two days later. “Pitches can again be dug up . . . Many things can happen which we will not disclose now as it will alert the security agencies,” Goyal said in an interview. “But whatever we do it will be a powerful and very visible protest,” he added.
Goyal demanded New Delhi halt Pakistan’s participation in the 10-nation tournament which ends on November 5 with the final in the Shiv Sena bastion of Mumbai. His followers dug up New Delhi’s Ferozeshah Kotla ground in 1999, eight years after Sena men damaged the Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium to protest the Pakistani cricket team’s presence in India.
The Hindu leader warned that Sena’s regional units in Jaipur as well as in Punjab state, were “committed and ready”. Goyal said the Sena’s protest followed a public statement by the Mumbai police chief that Pakistani spy agency Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) masterminded the July 7 attacks that killed 186 people and left 800 others wounded aboard commuter trains. “Even Afghan President Hamid Karzai accuses Islamabad of helping the Taliban … Pakistan is a hub of terror and we do not want anything to do with that country,” he said. “We demand New Delhi call off Pakistan’s participation in this tournament to express its opposition to terrorism.”afp

So now Hindoos have itchy minds again. Why don’t they understand that pakistan is not behind any Mumbai blasts…
Re: Pakistani team in India: Shiv Sena warns of ‘ferocious’ protests
well, men should not play there, simple as that.
Pakistani team should not play with them, if they are so self-absorbed & arrogant or insecure.
all games have to be bi-partisan as that ensures the spirit of a competition in a game, however, here it seems like, indian cricketers would like to play alone.
this politician in india sounds as if his uncontrolled, projected, & displaced anxiety is from arising from otherserious issues which are baring the indians down, from Pakistan's side.

I would pay money to see that.

Most of the posters here do not understand the nuances of Indian politics. SS is a party on the decline. They are using every trick in the book to revive their flagging fortunes. Even the SS know that none of these antics are going to get them any votes. hence the very muted reaction. People are not bothered about what the paper tiget Bal Thackery has to say. They know that his time is past. It is just a publicity gimmick

^Yah I think that is so....all they can do is chant anti-Pakistan remarks during the matches...but to no avail indian brothers cheering for Pakistan will make sure no one hears them.
Re: Pakistani team in India: Shiv Sena warns of ‘ferocious’ protests
Well, Shiv-Sena (SS) is one of the worst parties in India. After they were wiped out from 2004 general elections, they keep making such immature statements. They are neither in power in Maharashtra nor at the Centre. Recently, Bal Thackeray's 3rd in command (and his nephew) left the SS to found a new party. SS has also been plagued by other defections. Many analysts are now predicting the end of the Shiv Sena.
