Difference is that all others were NOT calling their war a "jihad".** It was only Taliban who were waging fasaad against Muslims in the name of jihad**. It also shows that Taliban claim of fighting against kafir US occupiers is false. Because they were fighting in Afghanistan even when US was not there.
And to call ALL non-Taliban people of Afghanistan is a blatant lie. But it is expected from someone who knows nothing about the fundamentals of Islam. جھوٹ بولتے ہوۓ ذرا بھی شرم نہیں آتی؟
If you are distancing yourself from Taliban then what is your problem in believing that Talibanic fasaadis were involved in this anti-Islam act?
again you have not proven that first bolded sentence.
and face to the palm. im not defending TTP, im' just thinking of the chance of an innocent man being tortured in prison right now just like thousands of others. dunno about you but I support the missing persons aka innocent prisoners.
I think both the US and Pakistani governments should also see which mosques he used to go to in the two countries. There might be similar lunatics still present there.
(CNN) – Faisal Shahzad, the suspect in the attempted bombing of Times Square, was heading for Pakistan – where he was born – when he was arrested late Monday night.
His family originally comes from a village near Peshawar in Pakistan.
Pakistan’s western areas, along the border with Afghanistan, have been a haven for Islamist radicals for years, despite efforts to bring it under control.
Shahzad told the FBI he trained at a terrorism camp in the Waziristan region of Pakistan, a U.S. administration official told CNN. However, the official said investigators have nothing to corroborate his account.
It was not clear whether Shahzad was referring to North or South Waziristan.
Hours after authorities arrested Shahzad, security forces in Pakistan seized two or three people in a raid connected with the failed bombing, a Pakistani intelligence source said.
again you have not proven that first bolded sentence.
What's to be proven there? Didn't Taliban call their war a jihad?

But why are you SO adamant on your unproven theory that Taliban are not responsible for it? If you know Taliban's violent history then you should agree that there is at least a possibility that Taliban may be involved in it. And keeping in mind that this guy hails from the heart of Taliban-land, it is not very unlikely that he be influenced by them.
Why the heck is that there is a Pakistani link in every and any terrorist act related news, globally? I was just praying that oh God let it be some other lunatic but a Muslim or a pakistani, but our brothers never fail to amaze us
Exactly my thoughts TLK. I dont understand wat the heck is wrong with these Pakistanis living in west.

**PESHAWAR: The dramatic arrest of Faisal Shahzad in connection with the Times Square bomb plot has shocked people who know the family here. ** Villagers of Mohib Banda in Pabbi, Nowshera, said that members of Shahzad’s family believed he had been implicated in a false case. “They are a well-respected family. They are apolitical,” a family friend said.
“I know Shahzad’s family very well. They are highly respected in the entire village and adjoining areas,” said Advocate Kifayatullah Khan, a former member of the provincial bar council.
He said the family believed that Shahzad had been framed. “The entire family is highly educated and enlightened. The villagers don’t believe that Shahzad could act in such a manner,” he said.
Dawn tried to contact family members for comments, but calls made to their residence in Hayatabad were not answered.
Advocate Kifayatullah said that although the family had agricultural land and property in the village, they did not live there. He said that Mr Haq had been looking after the land since his retirement.
Shahzad married a woman from Mardan. His mother is from Charsadda and elder brother is an engineer currently living in Canada.
Officials said that Shahzad had been using three passports – two of them Pakistani – since 2003. He left for the US via Dubai by an Emirate Airlines flight from Benazir International Airport in Islamabad in the first week of February.
Villagers told Dawn that Shahzad had attended a wedding ceremony in the village during his last visit early this year.
Investigators are trying to find out how an engineer settled in the US got in touch with militants, what prompted him to botch the bombing plot and who inspired him.

Signs of a 'typical' terrorist?
And, you're point is?
The 9/11 bombers were bars hopping the weekend before the attack. Were they "typical terrorists" from broken homes?
^ The point is the 'characteristics' of savage, tribal, barbaric terrorists that we are presented on this and other forums are not what really they are.
Did USA bomb the right 'terrorists' in Afghanistan?
I have been so sad since I saw this guy's photo on the BBC website. Being a parent of a Pakistani male child, I am actually afraid of the backlash these idiots are creating for our kids. You know, we are taught to respect life, not just cause our religion tell us this, but because it is genuinely the right thing to do.
I'm horrified to read some of the posts in this thread. Honestly, if you want to screw up your own life, by all means, go do it, but don't destroy innocent people in the process.
**No one cares about Pakistan.
And that's precisely why Pakistanis are burning their country down internally as well as externally.**

Signs of a 'typical' terrorist?
Exactly. If you look at a typical terrorist profile, not the one who masterminds the plot but one who executes it, he fits that perfectly. Half modern, half mulla, most dangerous combo.
so if you look at 9/11 terrorists they were all non-mullahs i.e. visiting ‘special’ bars a night before, clean shaven etc… so who doesn’t fit these profiles?
No one had spotted the mulla part in him TLK, it wasnt obvious. That makes him and others like him sp damaging for the Pakistani community. He appeared like a regular guy, good education, career, family man, the kind most Pak expats are. He single handedly has put the whole community a suspect.

This is true and incredibly obvious.
Exactly my sentiments. Everyone I know is truly appalled and horrified. You've hit the nail on the head -- no one really cares about the country. God knows what they care for. It's getting totally out of hand now. I almost had a seizure when I saw the guy's picture and details on the web.
He did mess up the situation more for Pakistan and Pakistanis now. Now matter what good Pakistani are tying to do to change their image in front of the world, idiots like him are making every effort to detoriate it.
I hope racial profiling does not start after this incident.
So anyone find out who saved the day? It was a Muslim, but I guess that' wasn't on the news nor we so-called educated open minded people want to dig out more.
More difficulties for Pakistani’s in US/Europe, probably special screening start again for us, and then we cry.. why we receive special treatment.. .. nice work dude :k:
