Re: Pakistani Squad for SA announced.
I dont understand why Pakistan keep trying Asim Kamal, except bringing in a left hand batsman in the middle order, I dont see any future asset in Asim. He is old and may not be a good option except filling in the qouta for Karachi, in that case it will be better to keep Faisal, he is young and could be a good future. I dont' agree that he didnt do well. When ever he got a chance I think he played good knocks under pressure, agaist spin as well as fast in recent Eng series.
Since Captain1 has already answered you regarding Sami, so I will not waste my time on Sami (already we have wasted much).
Tell me honestly if you have ever seen playing Asim Kamal? After a very long time we got a player with the required test match temperament, which is something you don't see in a typical Pakistani stroke player. Did you see him playing in Lahore against Saffies where he scored 99, than later against India with his gritty 73 or his 87 against Aussies ay Sydney or his 91 against India at Mohali? The guy has 8 fifties in his 12 test matches so far.
So far in his 12 test match career, he has shown that he can play with composure in any situation with recognized batsmen as well as tailenders. He has showed the potential of becoming what Rahul Dravid is for India, but unfortunately couldn't retain a spot in the side on regular basis. One of the major reasons is the presence of Inzi, Yousuf and Younis in the middle order. Once after Inzi departs, I hope to see Asim Kamal as someone who would be replacing him in the test side.

If this grudge thing is true....and not propa - ganda (like urdu ganda )
then it is a real pitty indeed that even after all this "so called" deen influence people can't get over basic pride and ego issues..
I think the real reason might be that Shoaib brings with him an air of rebellion into the camp/team. So its harder to captain the side for Inzimam who is not a very vocal guy.
And let not the INZI bashers get any ideas from what I said. I am not changing sides or anything. I still believe INZI is the best choice for captain right now and he is one of our finest batsmen.
Re: Pakistani Squad for SA announced.
With Shoaib's exclusion the SA disco owners must be really upset.

I have seen him play, and no doubt I like his temperament, technique and especially being a left hander in the middle order, but I was only talking about giving chances and grooming a youngster, some one teen or early twenties. Looking at Aussies selection of Mike Hussey, I think Asim at the age of 30 could contribute to the team if he keeps his fitness and could play for next 6 years.
Until Pakistan find another pacer of speed in 140 k, I will still support Sami in the absence of Shoaib.
