Pakistani serials on Zee TV USA

ZEE TV USA shows Pakistani serials on a regular basis. Right now they are showing “Adhurey Khwab” with Shahzad Roy. How old is this serial and how popular was this in Pakistan?

Would it be considered one of the better serials. Also what other serials have been shown on ZEE USA.

I would unsbuscribe zee and subscribe Prime TV

They don't just show PAK Drama, they even now started to show Pak Business, Pak Entertainment (news about Pak celeb. drama, movies) The reason they are doing this is cuz most of the Pak Awam has subscribed to Prime TV and unsubscribed to the indian and they are losing so many customers so they start doing this to bring back some customers.

I 2nd that notion.

Jaan LeY Hi JaUn ViChoRay

Right on target Q!
Prime TV was started a year ago in August and since then ZTV and Sony have been showing alot more Pakistani dramas then they used to.
Usually it was 2 or 3 dramas per week now they are showing 2 or 3 drams per day.
All ZTV has to do is show more cricket matches and they will get all the Prime TV viewers.

My friend used to have these Indian channels. From my limited knowledge - they used to show old dramas.

Oh - and that Shahzad Roy drama - I THINK its old. The most recent drama he did was one directed or produced by Mahnoor Baloch - can’t think of the name now. - it starts with an “L”.

“LAMHAY”…I think thats the name

I say we stick with Prime TV.. Im going to write to that prime post show to suggest they show Cricket, atleast in place of those crapy Punjabi films they show late nights. Instead they should be covering cricket matches which are usually on at that time anyway.

Prime TV is a really good channel, with some really top notch dramas. Try to subscribe to that and Zee TV (so you can have variety).

Also Zee TV in US has been showing all those Pak Business and Entertainment shows before Prime came to US.

I would know, that was the only thing that brought me to Pakistan at the time.

I hate to burst people's bubbles here --

But I really do feel, as a consumer, that the channel is only geared for Punjabi viewers. Almost all the dramas are of Lahori production and content.

Most of the music shown and promoted is Punjabi music.

Where you have 1 pushto drama and 1 sindhi drama , 0 balochi-oriented drama - you have 2 or 3 punjabi regional dramas.

I could seriously go on - but i'd probably offend the punjabi crowd out here.

Prime TV is not at all representative of Pakistani culture.

I totally agree with u! We had to subscribe to Zee TV recently bcuz they were showin the cricket match while Pak TV was not. We unsuscribed rite after the cricket matches were over....but still we had to give em some money which could have gone towards Pakistan

PCG, you maybe right, most of the productions on Prime TV are from Punjab but then again most of the dramas and Pakistani entertainment are produced in that region as well.
There was a time when different city's produced their own dramas like Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, and Quetta but now days we are seeing the diversion of people from Karachi, Islamabad and Quetta coming into Lahore, so most entertainment is produced in Punjab areas, and tell me if you like any Sindhi songs, I definatley don't, Pushto music is good and they sometimes show music videos of Rahim Shah in pushto songs I think.

But the real PTV is... I love that comedy Pushto guy 'forgot his name' thats been coming ever since I remember! He is so funny, even though the short comedy dramas are made on a very low budget... As for Baluchi stuff, the Dhuwaan drama was a great...

Spock are you talking about Yousuf Khan or something similiar, I think I know who are you talking about.

Dhuwan, what a great drama one of the best of all time.

My top 3 dramas of all time

Doosra Aasmaan

Dhuwan

Alpha Bravo Charlie

it is sad that none of today's drama are close to being good as the other ones.

I actually agree with you in part... But I think that the majority of the music artists just happen to be Punjabi, and those that aren;t sing in Urdu. Most of the Dramas are also in Urdu. So I dont think they are geared specifically for Punjabis, just turns out that way due to circumstances.

I haven;t heard many Sindhi songs, but the traditional songs, which are the few I have heard are really pretty good.

Im serious we should all start writing to them demanding they show cricket... No one watches Punjabi films, so they are basically losing money. If they show cricket matches instead, they will make a bundle!!!!Even Indians will watch since PTV is cheaper.

how clever this zee tv marwadi bania is on one hand thier zee news is full of anti muslim venom
zee tv produced a hate muslim movie called "gadar" and now they are showing pakistani dramas to make money out of muslims

I tried that when Prime Tv first started last year, wrote about 5 letters, they never answered back in anyway, its no use.

I think it’ll make a difference if we all right and only mention about cricket but nothing else. If one or 2 letters a week that won’t do any good. I would say 50 letters a week demanding cricket

actually - to answer your question - i do like sindhi songs

i've heard few artists - namely alan fakir, shazia khushk, abida parveen

Prime shows this one song by a lady sitting in a shalwaar kameez in a pakistani style veranda (er something like it) and she sings a hamd (with music) in sindhi - she's the wife of some famour guy i dont know who - but I love that song - its like the only one that they show that is sindhi - they dont show like any of shazia khusk's performances - and she's pretty famous in Pakistan

Um, I understand memoni at home as well as urdu, and that language is a combo of sindhi and gujrati - so I can understand a teeny bit of sindhi - the pronunctuation is similar, so i guess that's why I have an affinity to sindhi language.

But if you dont like sindhi songs then that is your preference right? That doesn't mean all pakistanis dont like sindhi songs.

also, sindhi hasn't gone mainstream - punjabi songs and some pushto has gone mainstream, so that's why not much sindhi music is shown.

however, prime does show punjabi folk singers - and the fact that they really dont show sindhi or balochi or pushto folk singers is what makes me say the music is more punjabi oriented .
