So with the above information and my interest in Forensic Files I wondered if Pakistan also has serial killers. Ofcourse there must be. Then I found this article on Javed Iqbal. It’s worse than I thought, he’s like the Jeffrey Dahmer of Lahore. It’s from 1999 though.
Javed Iqbal
Sodomized and killed 100 boys in Pakistan. All of the boys were street urchins which he drugged, molested, strangled and then dissolved in vats of acid, keeping their shoes and clothes as trophies. About halfway through, began a photodocumentation of his efforts, which he sent to police when the goal of 100 was attained. As nobody in Islamabad notices when a street urchin goes missing, Iqbal claims he could have achieved 500 had he the desire.
“I am Javed Iqbal, killer of 100 children… I hate this world, I am not ashamed of my action and I am ready to die. I have no regrets. I killed 100 children.”
Javed means immortal; Iqbal means desire. This gentleman is not to be confused with Javed Iqbal, cricket player, or Javed Iqbal, surgeon, or several other prominent Javed Iqbals in Pakistan.
Timeline
Jun 1998 Arrested, for procuring the services of two boy prostitutes. Quickly freed on bail.
30 Dec 1999 Surrenders to Jang, Pakistan’s largest circulation Urdu newspaper, Islamabad.
16 Mar 2000 Judge Allah Baksh decrees: “Javed Iqbal has been found guilty of 100 murders. The sentence is that he should be strangled 100 times… His body should be cut into 100 pieces and put in acid, as he did with his victims.”
8 Oct 2001 Javed Iqbal and accomplice Sajid found strangled in jail. Ruled a suicide, the deaths were very suspicious and signs of a beating were present. Guard Iftikar Husain was “asleep” when the deaths occurred.
It’s totally bizarre. This existed in an Islamic society that abhors homosexuality.
Well, you're talking about a country where people are more concerned with wondering whether a particular human rights worker is ahmedi, or that aga khani money is being used to toward hospitals and a medical school, rather than rapes and sodomy.
Actually, there is more to this story.... when this guy was in his early twenties or so he was arrested on the charges of rape or murder whereas he was not associated with any of those incidents. He told the newspaper that he was innocent and they came and arrested him. His mother did everything possible to get him out of the jail but was unsuccessful. I guess by the time he got out of the jail his mother had died. He had this urge of revenge and he ended up kidnapping, molesting, and killing those 100 kids. He said I wanted all those mothers feel what my mother had to go through.
God knows if he was also abused physically and mentally the time he had spent in jail.
I think each and everyone of us who belongs to that society is equally responsible for the death of those 100 boys and many more that happen there.
We as a society have never made an effort to go deep down the cause and take appropriate measures to prevent any such thing from happening in future.
No MS, they were not street kids. When he slandered himself, they went to his place and made a video. There found lunch boxes, bag packs, and uniform of those children.
shudders that is so sickening…most probably he is *ucked up in the head to do something like this…I dont know if killing him the same way will make much of a difference. It would be more effective if a) the ‘cause’ behind his actions and his background were explored through counseling (childhood abuse?) and further steps were taken to ensure the safety of kids through organizations like SAHIL…
why is it bizarre? just becuz a society abhors something doesnt mean crimes like this dont take place.
dinn we have a gang of serial murderers earlier also, known as hathora group (hammer group) which went and smashed people's skulls. targets were homeless people.

No we’re not responsible for the actions of one sick man. That’s like saying that all Muslims should apologize for 9/11. Sure Pakistan is messed up. It’s the ‘Land of the Pure’ but there are alot of problems in all aspects of the society. From police corruption to wife swapping to women being jailed because they were raped. It’s a gold mine for human rights violations.
Is the government or the police doing anything to bring law and order to the country? The problems are so deep. It seems you can’t just wipe away a few of the bad people and solve all the problems. You have to completely demolish everything and start over. I think a serial killer is just a symptom of an ill society. He is not the actual problem. He’s like a runny nose caused by the virus that’s infected a once beautiful country.

I think she has a point. If bishops and priests sodomize altar boys that means there's something wrong in the way the church is being run not Christianity itself. Similarly, with muders occuring in Pakistan without anyone noticing that means there's something wrong with our legal system including the law enforcement agencies not the country itself.
I like the punishment though. Better still, it should be done in a public place.
Well he later took back his confession after the verdict, of hanging him and cutting his body up into 100 pieces and then throwing it into the acid, came out. He said he wasnt guilty just wanted to come up with a fanciful story to have his face at the front page of all Pakistani dailys... though God knows what's the reality....
The strangest part in this story is that he ended up killing himself in his cell......
