Safeer Khan and Farhan Mahboob, the two promising Pakistani youngsters have brought pride back to the country, by winning the under-17 and under-15 British Junior Open squash titles at Sheffield, on Sunday.
The final day of the 2002 British Junior Open Squash at the Abbeydale Park Rackets and Fitness Club courts saw that in the under-17 all Pakistan finals, number seven seed and world number 138 Safeer Khan won in straight games against unseeded Khalid Atlas 9-6, 9-5, 9-2. It was a repetition of the Scottish Junior Open finals just a week ago at Scotland. Atlas did give some anxious moments in the beginning, but once Safeer got control, never looked back and won second consecutive international tournament within ten days. A remarkable performance for the youngster and reminding the fellow countrymen that squash future was still much brighter in the coming days.
The under-15 finals also was an affair between the two Pakistani youngsters Farhan Mahboob and Yasir Butt and it was decided in a well contested five games before Farhan had emerged as the champion.
Congratulations to both Safeer Khan and Farhan Mahboob. I hope and wish they continue to maintain the high standards set by Jahangir Khan and Jansher Khan.

. I heard from him that he will work with these kids for a year or so n if didnt got req. results then will leave the job.
So hope for a brighter paki squash future.
BTW I havnt seen there game, any one saw the matches??How is the level of there physical fitness , after all squash is more a game of super super fitness now adays
