Re: Pakistani Pronunciations

I LOVE the pakistani accent. Its so musical, beautiful to listen to. Nothing wring in getting a smile or two from it esp since its just so nice to listen to.

funny thing, pakistanis often substitute the "w" sound with the "V" sound and vice versa. My hubby does it but not too often. Funny thing is that my middle guy does this all the time! Almost like its a genetic thing! Instead of saying "veggies", he says "weggies" etc.

Re: Pakistani Pronunciations

Hahaha ... I learned it the hard way .. I was quite new in USA ... and one day I said "wending machine" my gora stupid collegue made fun of me in front of everyone...

Now I make an intentional effort to keep it right ... :)

another one that I used to (still maybe) do wrong is "ischool" vs "school" .. I want to be honest ... it is still hard for me but I try :D

wot is the difference between the 'v' sound and the 'w' sound :(

they sound the same even if its a native speaker speaking

Re: Pakistani Pronunciations

We should try to improve ourselves in every field.

Re: Pakistani Pronunciations

The ' v ' sound in english is ' wao ' (crunchy) sound in Urdu.

The ' w ' sound in English is ' wao ' (soft)sound in Arabic.
