Pakistani players will express themselves in Urdu

Re: The Pakistani players will express themselves in Urdu

that is what called a united team :cb:

Re: Pak cricketers to speak in urdu

well, he will still answer in English

Re: The Pakistani players will express themselves in Urdu

I agree with "just cuz u speak better english dont mean ur more educated".. but the point is that english is a global language today... its not a british language anymore.. the french and spanish players speak their languages bcuz in their countries they dont speak any english (they try not to).. but in our countries english is one of the official languges.. its spoken everywhere, huge english media... so theres nothing wrong in speaking english..

i think its just an excuse bcoz all of these guys CANNOT speak english.. if they knew how to speak good english they'd b speaking it, but bcoz they cant and theyve all embarassed themselves speaking english they wanan stick to urdu..

Re: The Pakistani players will express themselves in Urdu

^ point to be noted :chai:

Re: The Pakistani players will express themselves in Urdu

They are not supposed to speak english but they are over there to play cricket.

Re: The Pakistani players will express themselves in Urdu

Agree.

Re: The Pakistani players will express themselves in Urdu

…then for what this so called media conference
you mean to say-ICC should ban all media conferences involving teams???:hmmm:

Re: The Pakistani players will express themselves in Urdu

It’s good,.at least they won’t be embaressing themselves :k:

Re: The Pakistani players will express themselves in Urdu

good move

Re: The Pakistani players will express themselves in Urdu

FUST of all, THANK to Allah (GOD). Boyz IS happy with this decision and I ARE happy too.

PS: Really good decision. Although many of you may hate Rashid Latif but he always used to say "I'll speak in Urdu" and then he used to reply in URDU. Shame is in speaking messed up English than perferct URDU.

Re: The Pakistani players will express themselves in Urdu

^Another option for Inzimam (and other Pak players who can speak passable English) is that instead of invoking the "Bismillah...." line at the start of every interview, they should begin with..."I apologize for my English..." or "Please excuse my English...." and then go on with the interview in the usual manner.
Many non-English speaking Europeans, Chinese, Japanese etc say this in Business situations and people usually understand.

I think we Desis equate knowledge of English with education and suaveness, so tend not to acknowledge any deficiencies in this department.

Re: The Pakistani players will express themselves in Urdu

which football players are speaking latin?

lol.

Re: The Pakistani players will express themselves in Urdu

Agreed 200% That's a complex we desis in particular Pakistanis and Indians are born with and can never quite shake off

I see nothing wrong with conversing in your own language. The Arabs always speak in their own language and the Japanese or Chinese Premier when they meet with Bush/Blair/Musharraf etc. they always have translators with them. Apart from the usu. hellos and hi's they prefer to speak in their own language. That does n't make them any less educated or backward.

Re: The Pakistani players will express themselves in Urdu

A good move surely. I know many people don’t have very high expectations from Pakistan but if God willing we were to win the World Cup, you don’t really want poor Inzi to make a complete a** of himself on the victory stand in front of a world-wide audience of 1.5 billion people

Re: The Pakistani players will express themselves in Urdu

agree with red as one sentence....
:D

seriously though...it is true..

Re: The Pakistani players will express themselves in Urdu

not a bad decision.

Re: The Pakistani players will express themselves in Urdu

akhir aa hi gayi aqal PCB ko, it should be on first place like this.....anyways there is no shame that our players cannot speak English.

Re: The Pakistani players will express themselves in Urdu

Saying Bismillah-irrah-Man-Ir Rahim, simply means: "In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful" ---- why should it be replaced with "i apologize for my english" or whatever else u suggested.

i think the translator is a great idea, it should have been implemented ages ago

Re: The Pakistani players will express themselves in Urdu

Because religion is a private matter and not something you invoke when asked a simple question like - "How do you think the pitch will play today ?".

In your office when your Boss asks you about the status of your work ...do you start your answer with.. "Bismillah-irrah-Man-Ir Rahim......"

Dont cringe if Sehwag says to Rameez Raza next time "Jai Bajrang Bali..I hope to bat well today"

Re: The Pakistani players will express themselves in Urdu

:rotfl:

But seriously, I am tired of these people who wear relegion on their sleeves. Leave it at your home.Dont show off. This is a recent phenomena in Pak cricket, I think it all started with Waqar.Imran never did this.
